Janice Los Angeles
$40 per hour for 1 child

My name is Janice and I am a California native with over 20 years of experience as a professional nanny. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Education. I am CPR/First Aid and Trustline certified. I have worked with children of all ages- from newborn to adolescents-including children with special needs. I strive to provide nurturing, intentional care that supports each child’s developmental needs. My approach is grounded in empathy, consistency, and mutual respect. I believe in talking with children, not at them, and I support emotional regulation and resilience through calm, reflective interactions. I have worked as a tutor, and have created and implemented individualized home programs. I have homeschooled children while traveling, adapting curriculum to support learning on the go. I have traveled extensively with families both domestically and internationally. I am able to bring structure, flexibility, and a grounding presence while traveling and at home. I believe being a nanny is not just about childcare—it is about building strong, lasting relationships, becoming a trusted partner to parents, and supporting children through every stage of their growth. I have hands-on experience in senior care through the time I spent caring for my own aging mother while she underwent treatment for cancer. During this period, I regularly accompanied her to medical appointments, communicated with her doctors, and kept our family informed of all important updates. I, also, helped manage her day-to-day needs, including preparing meals and medications, running errands, and maintaining her three-bedroom home. This experience gave me a deep understanding of the physical and emotional support that seniors often require. I have experience with pet care and house sitting, regularly working with several families to care for their cats and dogs while they are away. I take care of all essential tasks, including feeding, playtime, outdoor walks/dog park time, and cleaning up after the pets to ensure they are happy and well looked after in their owners’ absence. Personally, I’ve had cats for over 16 years and have had 2 snakes, which has made me confident and comfortable around a wide range of animals. I am reliable and attentive, and this approach helps pet owners feel at ease knowing their homes and beloved pets are in capable hands.

Hi! my name is Katrina. I am currently a student at Cal State Long Beach. I offer child care, senior care, pet care, tutoring, and household services. I am an older sister to two siblings. I enjoy being around children I've spent many of my weekends volunteering for my church's daycare. I have experience with kids of all ages and caring for multiple kids at a time. I can also provide reference numbers if needed. My responsibilities have included tutoring, crafting, outdoor and indoor activities, preparing lunch or snacks, cleaning up messes, pick up and drop off etc. I have been a caretaker to my Grandmother in her 80s since I was 14 years old so I also offer senior care. I could cook, clean, organize medicine, or do any task required of me. I also work as a household assistant, I can cook, do dishes, do laundry, clean the house, etc.

Katrina once again is very prompt she comes at her designated time. The girls are feeling very comfortable, she receives them with respect. I too feel very confident with letting her take my grandchildren to school I’m adding to this review. Katrina worked for us for over 2/ 1/2 months. She also worked when she went back to school. I feel very confident with her. She responded quickly when I needed more days even though her schedule was different. I appreciate her loyalty to assist.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
