$25 per hour for 1 child

I'm a married, 35 year-old journalist in a transition phase. Previously, I worked for 10 years as a lifeguard and swim instructor, so I have plenty of experience working with children (infants up to young teens). I'm mild-mannered, calm and patient. I have a sweet little dog named Jacuzzi and we often dog-sit for others, so I'm very comfortable around dogs and all kinds of pets. I'm also a bit of a clean freak and organizer, so I don't mind doing stuff around the house or in the yard, etc.

Booked by 4 families in Los Angeles, CA

I am a recent San Francisco State graduate. I have a Bachelor's of Art degree in Child and Adolescent Development with a concentration in youth work and out of school time. I have a vast array of experience working with children that spans over six years. I have worked as a preschool teacher for two different preschools both in San Francisco and Portland, OR. I have also worked a total of four years as a camp counselor for Camp Galileo. In terms of nannying I have worked for about six different families and have done weekly sittings, overnight trips, school pickups, meal making, bedtime preparation, arts and crafts, etc. I have also volunteered with Reading Partners, Safe & Sound, San Mateo Outdoor Education, and San Francisco Unified School District. I love working with children and have gained my knowledge through experience but also higher education. I am hoping to get my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and I love to babysit whenever I have free time.

Janie was an excellent sitter for our two young children (4 and 6). She is warm and calm, listens carefully and responds thoughtfully to our children. She provides constructive guidance to them, helps them stay organized, encourages them to use words to talk out their disputes, and makes them feel safe. She was always on time, and proactive in planning. She helped with school pick-up and prepped dinner and fed our children on some evenings. I would definitely hire Janie again, and recommend her highly for your family.

Hi! My name is Ali and am looking for a new family to do what I love to do which is have fun with kids! I babysat for everything from newborns to school age kids the whole time I was in college and high school and have basically raised my two nephews and two neices since they were born so much theyre like my kids so I have years of experience. I like to spend time playing with the kids, doing arts and crafts or drawing or whatever they want to do so I dont mind cooking for them or cleaning up after them, but Im not a housekeeper so I can give my full attention to the kids. I of course have reliable transportation, am responsible, reliable and have common sense when dealing with children and their safety, ect. Let me know if you want me to provide you great references for families ive worked with before, as theyd be happy to speak with you about me. please feel free to reach out :) , Ask me anything you want, Im an open (fun) book :) I look forward to meeting your family!

$30 per hour for 1 child

I've recently taken a break from running operations for tech startups on the East Coast, and relocated from Boston, MA to sunny Los Angeles! As I've settled into West Coast life, I've enjoyed building a practice of home care, dog sitting, personal assistance, and household services. I have clientele from Long Beach to Santa Monica to the Hollywood Hills and have helped them with childcare, pet care, errands, house cleaning, cooking, scheduling, driving and small business support. Personally, I'm a proud dog mom of Riley, a 3 year old Belgian Shepherd, and Skipper, a 5 year old Shih Tzu; and an even prouder aunt to 10 year old Teagan and 7 year old Avery.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
