$20 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 7 families in Norwalk, CA

Hello! My name is Kaelin and I am a recent graduate from UCSD! I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in child development and literature. My area of focus is child development in psychology so I understand the needs of each child at any age. Experience includes: - professionally babysitting for 3+ years - worked with kids 1:1 in schools on the spectrum/ with varying behavioral issues - worked at a group home with adolescents with varying behavioral issues - coach for kids age 6-18 for cross country, soccer, track, and rock climbing I’d be glad to help with any of their homework, read to the kids, help with their literacy skills, etc. I can also help with basic math homework. My goal as a psychology graduate and also as a person is to let the kids understand that they are a human as well and should be treated with the same respect and kindness that adults treat each other with. Often times people treat kids as if they’re less autonomous beings because of their age and I think it’s important to let them know their ideas, opinions and thoughts are just as important and valuable as ours. It build their confidence and self-esteem and also helps with their identity development. One of my more integral talents is being very craft and creative! I have my own small business where I make stuffed animals and I absolutely love doing any sort of arts and crafts. (I can also bring supplies of my own to do different activities with the kids) I am also very good at baking! So if your kids want to learn how to bake, need a snack, or you’d like to come home to a baked treat I’d love to do that. I am also open to doing household chores and also errands such as grocery shopping. I am also able to walk dogs and take care of dogs if needed.

Kaelin was a dream babysitter for me and my family when we visited Disneyland for the weekend. We booked her multiple times, because we were so impressed by her ability to watch a 1 year old and a 5 year old. She is incredibly qualified with an early childhood education degree, flexible, attentive, intuitive. She was so helpful, feeding them, engaging with games, doing bath and also had all the best recommendations for local food and things to do. It was such a pleasure to have a wonderful, caring, warm and intelligent young lady watch our kids. We would 100 percent recommend and book her again! Thank you Kaelin!

I have a lot of experience working with children, both through my job at Skyzone hosting birthday parties and as an assistant teacher at a preschool. I’ve also been taking care of my younger siblings and the children of my relatives and family friends for over 5 years , so I understand how important it is to be responsible, attentive, and to have fun. My responsibilities have included preparing meals, tutoring, arts/crafts, driving to / from school and more tasks. Im more than happy to help out with any household chores and my hours are very flexible so Im happy to work with your schedule. Maisha is wonderful! She's very attentive, reliable, kind, and respectful. I WFH and needed help with my 7-month old daughter, and my daughter was instantly drawn to her. I really love how communicative and engaging she is with my daughter. Maisha is also very knowledgeable and family oriented. We went through several meet and greet with other candidates, and I knew right away Maisha was the one! I'd highly recommend her for kids of all ages. Our assignment was short because we are moving out of state, but we seriously will miss her! ☺️

A little bit about me is that I love working with kids due to me babysitting since I was 14 for neighbors, family members and my mom's day care center. I've babysat from new borns to nine year olds. This sparked my interest for becoming a teacher. I like being a babysitter because it gives the flexibility to work and still be in school.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
