Hello! My name is Korea and I am 37 years old. I was born and raised in Fresno, California, and I’m the eldest of seven children. From a young age, I played a major role in helping my parents with caregiving and family support. I have a younger brother diagnosed with Spina Bifida, which gave me early experience assisting with activities of daily living. I also have another younger brother diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes, and I helped with monitoring blood sugar levels and administering insulin. While living in Fresno, I worked as a Tutor with the Teaching Fellows Foundation, supporting elementary students in grades 1 through 6. I also helped with creative enrichment activities including cooking, gardening, and hands-on learning projects. During my time at Birney Elementary, I was honored to receive Employee of the Month. In 2015, I moved to Long Beach, CA, and began working with the W.R.A.P. Program through the Boys & Girls Club of Long Beach. I supported students through tutoring, structure, and behavior reinforcement, and worked with children who needed extra guidance and patience.
