Hello, parents! I have moved back to Oakland after living in San Jose for almost ten years and I am working full time as a toddler teacher. I have experience working as a transitional kindergarten teacher, nanny, floater teacher, preschool aide and teacher, a school-age daycare teacher and family daycare assistant and have done some babysitting. I also have experience taking care of my nephews and cousins as well. My rate is $25 to $35 per hour and I might be available on some weekends, too for babysitting. I am first aid/CPR certified, I also have a child development teacher permit as well as a bachelor's degree of Human Development with an Early Childhood Development option from Cal State University East Bay. I love working with children because they are fun to play with and be around. Thank you and looking forward to meeting you and your children.

Booked by 15 families in Orinda, CA

Hi, I’m Antonia. I have worked as a nanny for 17+ years and am a mother of three boys, ages 14, 5, and 10 months. I am currently looking for a new family to work with, ideally caring for a child between 0–3 years old alongside my youngest son. I truly enjoy working with children and becoming a supportive part of a family’s daily life. I am experienced in helping children through developmental and behavioral milestones, including sleep and nap routines, eating habits, sharing and taking turns, potty training, and preparing for preschool. I love spending time outdoors with kids and enjoy taking them to parks, playgrounds, and the library for play, learning, and socialization. I speak three languages: English, Spanish, and Mam (a Guatemalan language). Over the years, I have worked with more than 10 families, and I still stay in contact with nearly all of them. References are available upon request. I am also open to a nanny share and flexible on rates and hours, as long as the overall arrangement meets my family’s needs. In addition, I have participated in my own nanny shares with each of my three boys when they were infants, and I can provide references from the families I worked with during those arrangements. I am available to start anytime.

Antonia was incredible! She was quick to respond to my request for a last minute job and arrived promptly despite the early start time and roughly an hour of notice. She was warm and kind and had my stranger anxious baby smiling in no time! I am so happy to have found Antonia!

Hi! My name is Laisa. I’m a 35-year-old career nanny from Brazil with 20+ years of childcare experience, including 10+ years specializing in infants and toddlers, which is where my passion truly lies. I’m available starting August 14, 2026, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, preferably 6+ hours per day, with the potential to increase hours in the near future. My caregiving style is loving, respectful, gentle, and responsive. I follow each family’s parenting style while supporting the child’s development through talking, reading, singing, age-appropriate activities, and indoor/outdoor play. I also value clear communication and keep parents updated throughout the day with photos, videos, and a daily progress report. Requirements: • $40/hour net minimum — W-2 or cash • Guaranteed weekly hours • PTO & paid sick days • Federal holidays • Monthly health stipend • Overtime at 1.5× after 8 hours/day, per California law Qualifications: • CPR & First Aid certified • Fluent English & Portuguese; conversational Spanish • Basic baby sign language • Non-smoker & reliable transportation • Excellent references • Background check available I take my commitments seriously and do not cancel unless there is an emergency. I also require agreed-upon hours to be guaranteed, with no banking of hours. References: To respect my previous families’ privacy, I provide letters of recommendation upon request. Reference phone numbers are shared only after an in-person meeting or trial day, once we both feel it’s a good fit and would like to move forward. If my experience and style of caregiving align with your family’s values, I’d love to connect! Best, Laisa

We had a very successful trial day with Laisa that led us to hire her as our part-time nanny. Laisa brought a gentle, patient, and inquisitive energy to caring for our 3-month old. She took all of our directions to heart and even sought out ways to help with additional baby-related chores. Our baby was very comfortable with Laisa and Laisa showered him in the near-constant interaction and attention he craves. Laisa has already worked so hard to accommodate our schedule and preferences. We can't wait to watch her relationship with our baby develop long-term. Highly recommend Laisa for part-time nannying, one-off babysitting days, or any other child-related care!

My name is Maria Elena, but I go by Elena. I’m originally from El Salvador and have been living in the Bay Area for 33 years. I am a single mother to an almost 14-year-old boy. I have many years of experience working with children—over eight years as a nanny before my son was born and as part of a nanny share since he was six months old. I truly enjoy spending time with children by reading, doing fun activities, and being outdoors. I love taking kids to the zoo, Fairyland, parks, and library story times. In my free time, I enjoy cooking and reading. I have taken many child development classes, and last year I graduated with a degree in Child Development.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
