Hai $20 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 1 family in Seal Beach, CA

Hello my name is Hai and I am 50 years young. I come from a family of immigrants who came to the U. S. in 1975 after the Vietnam war. At that time there were 11 members in my family which included my parents and 8 siblings. I was the second youngest child. In 2008 my baby sister passed away from colon cancer when she was only 32. She was a second grade teacher at Lampson Elementary in the Orange Unified School District and loved her students. She won teacher of the year around 2005. She also loved all of our 12 nieces and nephews. We both shared a deep affection for kids. I became an uncle when I was only 10 after my first and oldest niece was born. She is now 40, and has a 2 year young son and a newborn boy. I remember holding her when she was a newborn and she fell asleep in my arms. That was the start of my love and journey with kids. Because of having so many older siblings I have a total of 12 nieces and nephews. I took care of and played with all of them when they were little, so I have many years of experience watching kids. I’m kind, patient, and nurturing. For the past 11 years I’ve been a volunteer with a nonprofit organization called Linc, where I am a mentor at an after school program for kids between kindergarten and 7th grade. I serve them snacks, help them with their homework, and play fun activities with them, including reading, art projects, and games. I won volunteer of the year in 2015. My supervisor at the program loves me and is one of my closest friends. If you need a reference or letter of recommendation from her I would be happy to oblige. I am a kind and responsible individual that you can trust to take care of your loved ones.

Dear Perspective Family, It is with deep gratitude and complete confidence that we recommend Deb Scribner as an exceptional nanny and caregiver. Deb has been with our family since August 2022, and quite simply, she has been one of the most impactful people in our lives during this season. As a household with two working parents—both operating full-time in corporate roles from home—our days are fast-paced, demanding, and often overlapping between meetings, deadlines, and the needs of a growing child. Navigating that dynamic requires not just childcare, but a true partner in the home. Deb has been exactly that. From the very beginning, Deb has provided outstanding care for our son. She is reliable, consistent, and incredibly thoughtful in how she approaches each day. Beyond meeting his basic needs, she has actively contributed to his growth and development—supporting his preschool homeschooling journey and teaching him foundational skills that will serve him for years to come. Her ability to balance structure, creativity, and warmth has made a lasting impression on him. What sets Deb apart is the way she seamlessly integrates into the rhythm of family life. She is proactive in coordinating schedules and planning ahead—whether it’s helping us prepare for vacations or ensuring continuity during busy work seasons. She has also gone well beyond traditional nanny responsibilities, caring for our home in ways that have brought us immense peace of mind—from tending to our garden and chickens to embracing the joyful chaos of our energetic dog. More importantly, Deb has cared for our family as a whole. She has supported us through illness, surgeries, and the emotional complexities that come with early parenthood—postpartum challenges, mom guilt, and the many transitions that working parents face. She brings wisdom, calm, and genuine compassion in moments when it matters most. There is a steadiness about her that cannot be taught, and it has been invaluable to us. We can say with complete honesty that we could not have navigated this chapter of life without her. Any family would be incredibly fortunate to have Deb as part of their home. She is trustworthy, nurturing, capable, and deeply invested in the well-being of the families she serves. If you are looking for someone who will not only care for your children but truly support your entire family, we wholeheartedly recommend Deb Scribner. Warmly, Ryan and Brianna Schaaf

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
