Jade $21 per hour for 1 child

Hi, I'm Jade! I have a lot to say about my experience, as well as a fun fact about me at the end, so please read through this bio! I hold an associate's in Elementary Education, as well as a bachelor's in Anthropology (which I intend to use to become a children's librarian). I have worked in early childcare for about two years altogether, though that isn't counting the babysitting I don't put on my resume from when I was a teen to young adult. I have also tutored throughout college, helping kids grades 2nd-10th with all subjects. I love working with children; it brings me so much joy to bring them joy! I am a bubbly person who enjoys making games to play with all sorts of age groups. I have been told by colleagues that I show great patience with the kids in my care and work well with each child's abilities and interests when teaching new concepts so that those concepts stick. I pride myself in my ability to find a way to explain something in a way that each kid will understand. This goes not only for academic material, but also boundaries, day-to-day necessities, and other safety and health material. My favorite thing about working with kids is when I know I've made a positive impact on them, their development, and their family. I believe that kids are so incredibly smart, and getting along well with just them isn't enough. I know that working with parents and guardians is a crucial step to ensuring quality care. When it comes to pets, I have two cats of my own and have lived with dogs throughout my life. One of my cats is special needs, so I have some experience in learning to understand pets that might not act "normal" to how they normally do. I am a quick learner and do very well with instructions, though I might ask some clarifying questions to ensure everyone's comfort and satisfaction. I have a weird quirk: I love cleaning. I actually like when something gets dirty and I have to work to clean it or figure out a new way to get difficult grime off. I think it's my science-mindedness that keeps me researching the best ways to clean! Fun fact: I am a huge board game nerd! I own over 60 different board games, and I love playing them and discovering new ones! If your family is full of board game enthusiasts, I think we'll get along well :)

Mac $22 per hour for 1 child

Hi there! I’m Mac! I am returning to college for my BA at MSU Denver, and looking for occasional or part time work as a caregiver. I have experience nannying for a family with a newborn, 3 yo, and 6 yo for a year. I also grew up nannying school aged kids, and was a creative movement teacher for children from 3rd to 5th grade for 2 years. I am CPR certified, have my own vehicle, and a clean driving record. I am great with pets (I have a 13 year old rabbit, grew up with dogs, and have lived with and cared for cats as well). I want to be a supportive presence in whatever way I can be, and am happy to help with housekeeping, laundry, organizing, tidying, etc. Hope to hear from you soon to see if we’d be a good fit!

Ashlee $25 per hour for 1 child

Hello! I come from a small town in Wisconsin. I’m moving to the Des Moines area at the end of April and will be wanting to start with a family right away! I’ve had the opportunity to work with children ages 3 months old up to 10 years old in my six years of childcare experience. I truly enjoy every stage of childcare and can easily adapt to the families parenting style/ ages of children. I love and put a lot of care into my work as a caregiver. Building connections with the family is one of my favorite things about this field. I like to provide house care such as laundry and basic cleaning.

Amukelani $22 per hour for 1 child

Hey, my name is Amu, and I’m a qualified teacher with a heart for caregiving and a strong background in working with children, including as an au pair. I’ve worked with children of various ages and needs—both in the classroom and in home settings—and I believe my experience, patience, and nurturing nature make me an excellent caregiver. 👶 Children & Au Pairing: As an au pair, I was responsible for daily routines, homework help, meal preparation, creative play, and emotional support. This hands-on experience taught me how to bond with children, build trust, and create a safe and loving environment. I’ve also worked as a teacher and tutor, including with children who have autism, ADHD, and other learning needs. I know how to adapt my approach to meet each child’s unique personality and learning style. 👵 Seniors: I’ve supported elderly family members with companionship, basic care, and errands. I approach senior care with the same kindness and respect I offer my students and young ones—always making sure they feel valued and supported. 🏠 Household Services: I’m organized, tidy, and dependable. My au pair and teaching experiences have helped me master managing routines, meal prep, light cleaning, and helping children stay on schedule. I’m also good at creating structure in the home without making it feel strict. 🌟 My Strengths: Patient, warm, and emotionally intuitive Reliable and consistent Great at communicating with children and parents Creative and fun, but also responsible and safety-conscious Able to multitask and stay calm under pressure Caring for others is something that comes naturally to me—whether I’m helping a child with homework, preparing a meal, or simply being there when someone needs support. I believe in creating safe, joyful, and respectful environments for everyone I care for.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
