Hello all! My name is Suzanne, and I am a Senior Human Performance major at Howard University, Located in Northwest Washington DC. Outside the school term, I live in Kaiserslautern, Germany, and am originally from Yaounde, Cameroon.
I currently offer child care, pet care, and small household services.
I have experience working with children in different settings, primarily ages 5-12. Some of these include volunteering in the daycare at church during services, and during summer bible study, I was a lead counselor watching the children throughout the days. Ensuring they got to their stations on time, helping to keep them engaged, taking care of any minor problems that may have occurred, and doing small readings at my former church. I also am a former girls' youth lacrosse referee, where I would work with little athletes from ages 6-12 years old. I babysit a lot within my family; hence there are many newborns and young children. I am the eldest daughter in my family with six younger siblings, which familiarizes me with children.
I love to cook, and as a former D1 athlete at Howard and a current dancer, I love staying active, getting creative, and doing outdoor activities. My other hobbies and passions include community interest, health and nutrition, travel, diversity, and food and culture. I am currently pursuing a career in being a physician Assistant specializing in maternal health. I am currently CPR, and AID certified and also speak french. My experience working with children may be limited compared to others. Still, I enjoy expanding my knowledge daily, working, playing, and learning from children is something I hope to expand on with your opportunities!
