I come from a very big family and have been helping care for cousins and siblings since I was 4 years old.(i used to claim my brother was my baby). Currently I work for 2 families, one has a toddler and new born and the other family has a middle schooler. Before that I was in a nanny share with 2 amazing babies that I had been with since they were 2 months. Before nannying I was a lead infant and toddler teacher for almost 2 years and ran my own classroom. I made such great connections with my students and their families that have extended beyond the classroom. I do occasional babysitting for many of my former students. Also during that time I got to experience working with students from 6 weeks - 6 years old. I love getting to learn the different personalities of each child and how to best support their journey in life. I believe that it's important for children to learn structure from an early age but there should also be room from spontaneity. Learning to balance work and play is also just as important. I'm currently pursuing a degree in Marketing; which I've put to use working with children more often than one would think.
