Booked by 12 families in Kailua, HI

Hi! My name is Kimi and I’m a lifelong resident of Oahu a beautiful island I get to call home! I’ve been lucky enough to have raised three daughters, and have helped to raise my Grandson for 5 1/2 years. I was a preschool teacher for 30+ years working with children ages 2-6. I started working with infants at the age of 16 and love it! In the last few years, I have been working with infants in my home and their homes. I find the more personal and nurturing aspects of being a Nanny for infants, children, and their families to be very rewarding and fulfilling. I’ve also worked with ages 11-17, with at-risk teens as a counselor, at Winner’s Camp Hawaii and Hale Kipa. I have done volunteer work with my daughter's school and Girl Scouts Hawaii. In the last few years, I have taken care of infants at their Hotels for families on vacation as well as their homes for daily care and for as needed care. Teaching and caring for infants and children is my passion and my many years of experience make me a responsible, effective, compassionate, patient and nurturing, Nanny. :) I love taking care of families! I’d love to be of help to your family and be a part of your exciting journey as parents! Thanks for checking out my profile! Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Hopefully I can be of assistance to your family! I’m looking forward to connecting with you and possibly becoming a part of your village:)

Kimi accepted a very last minute request to watch our daughter in our hotel while we visited Waikiki for vacation. She was quick to respond, on time and very professional. We would have her watch our daughter again any time.

*Open to discussing rates that work for your family* Hi, my name is Kinara! I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I come from a very big family and have been helping care for cousins and siblings since I was 4 years old.(i used to claim my brother was my baby). Currently I work for 2 families, one has a toddler and new born and the other family has a middle schooler. Before that I was in a nanny share with 2 amazing babies that I had been with since they were 2 months. Before nannying I was a lead infant and toddler teacher for almost 2 years and ran my own classroom. I made such great connections with my students and their families that have extended beyond the classroom. I do occasional babysitting for many of my former students. Also during that time I got to experience working with students from 6 weeks - 6 years old. I love getting to learn the different personalities of each child and how to best support their journey in life. I believe that it's important for children to learn structure from an early age but there should also be room from spontaneity. Learning to balance work and play is also just as important. I'm currently pursuing a degree in Marketing; which I've put to use working with children more often than one would think. Recently, I have completed an EMT program and am in the process of getting my state certification. I have a very active dog that I couldn't imagine living without.

Great babysitter and super nice person!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
