Booked by 7 families in Chicago, IL

Hi! I’m a graduate student located in Chicago with over 10 years of childcare experience and an educational background in public health and psychology. I have held several nannying positions as well as being a regular date night sitter or anything inbetween. I am comfortable with children of all ages, particularly infants and toddlers, but I enjoy working with older children as well. I have some experience with children with physical and developmental disabilities that can be discussed further. For multiple years in college I was an ACT tutor and test prep tutor and worked with kids 10+ yrs old 1-on-1. I also used a childcare app “Wyndy”, where I babysat for at least 30 different families through out the years and have several pre-made reviews I can show you. I am the oldest of 7 as well so besides having professional experience with children, I really love just working with kids, having fun with them & supporting their development. As a caregiver I would describe myself as warm, open-minded, and encouraging of children’s’ curiosity. I love going outdoors with kids on walks, to museums, etc, but also know how to entertain at home. I pride myself on making sure kids feel as understood and respected as possible and am open to matching parenting styles. I’m comfortable with many different childcare situations and am open to discuss opportunities. I have a vehicle, am up to date on vaccinations, and no pet allergies. Let me know if you have any other questions! **AVAILABILITY: For Spring 2026, I am regularly unavailable on M and W afternoons due to my classes

Kendal 7 reviews

Kendal Barbour- / 19 Filmmaker, Actress, and Optimist. Hi! I’m a friendly, dependable, and caring person with over 10 years of experience helping care for children and infants. Coming from a big family with four siblings, both older and younger than me, I’ve spent much of my life helping with childcare and learning how to be patient, responsible, and attentive to children’s needs at every stage of development. I am also CPR certified, giving families added peace of mind knowing their children are in safe and capable hands. I genuinely enjoy spending time with kids, whether that means helping with homework, reading stories, planning fun activities, encouraging creativity, or simply being a positive and supportive presence. My goal is always to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and have fun. I also have experience caring for a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, fish, birds, turtles, and lizards, so I’m happy to help with family pets as well. I graduated from a performing arts high school, where I studied acting, dance, stage combat, dialects, and stage management. My creative background helps me connect with children through games, storytelling, arts and crafts, music, and imaginative play. I’m organized, trustworthy, and easy to get along with, with strong communication skills and a flexible schedule. Whether it’s keeping routines on track, preparing simple meals, tidying up after activities, helping around the house, or providing attentive care for infants and children, I take pride in being someone families can count on and feel comfortable welcoming into their home.

Kendal is very dependable as well as reliable very outgoing stand up person who is very responsible

Ashton $18 per hour for 1 child

Hi parents! I’m Ashton, the oldest of seven, so caregiving has always come naturally to me. Growing up, I was the built-in “little parent,” and that early experience sparked my passion for working with children. I’m currently completing my undergraduate degree in Human Development and Learning and preparing to begin my path toward becoming an Occupational Therapist. I also work as a paraprofessional at Easterseals, where I support children with ASD, IDD, and a wide range of developmental needs. This role has strengthened my patience, creativity, and ability to adapt to each child’s unique communication and learning style. Outside of school and work, I’ve spent years providing babysitting and dog-sitting for families, neighbors, and of course my own siblings. Whether it’s helping with routines, engaging in sensory-friendly play, or simply creating a safe and fun environment, I truly enjoy being part of a child’s day. I love games, dance parties, karaoke, arts & crafts, and tackling big puzzles, anything that helps kids explore, grow, and have fun. Parents tell me I bring calm energy, responsibility, and genuine connection to the kids I care for. I’d love to support your family in whatever way you need; whether it’s childcare, homework help, structured play, or a reliable extra set of hands. Looking forward to meeting you!

I loved working with her. Was great with my baby thanks to her I was able to finally put him on a schedule. Help me through his teething stage and above and beyond. Def would recommend she’s def the best with my baby who is only a couple months old. Teaches him motor skills and keeps me updated through out the day.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
