Booked by 4 families in Hometown, IL

Hi, I’m Kia! I have several years of experience working with children of all ages, and I specialize in early childhood development — especially with little ones 6 months to 2 years old. I love helping infants and toddlers reach important milestones like motor skills and early learning basics through attentive care and hands-on engagement. For school-aged kids, I make sure they stay active and engaged with age-appropriate activities, and I’m always happy to help with homework. I also provide reliable school pick-up and drop-off, as well as transportation to after-school programs and weekend appointments. I can prepare breakfast, lunch, or dinner as needed, and I’m CPR certified for your peace of mind. Whether you need full-time help or occasional care, I bring a calm, caring, and dependable presence to every home I work with and would love to support yours.

Kia was truly a god send. She has been nothing short of amazing. I don’t even want to leave a review because I want her to keep her all to myself. Seriously, my daughter looks forward to kia sitting her. She is punctual, reliable and great with the kiddos. This is most of what we can all ask for but her personality is stellar as well. An absolute would recommend.

Booked by 6 families in Hometown, IL

Caring and reliable childcare provider with over 2 years of experience supporting children across different ages and personalities. I create a warm, structured environment where kids feel safe, engaged, and excited to learn. With a background in teaching and activity planning, I love organizing creative play, outdoor time, and educational moments that support each child’s development. I’m patient, proactive, and attentive to routines, safety, and emotional well-being—making sure both children and parents feel confident and at ease.

Marifer was amazing! We hired her to keep an eye on our 3-year-old so that we could focus on packing our stuff for our upcoming move, and she did far far more than just keep an eye on her! It was a very hot day, so Ava constantly wanted to go to the playground, and then back home once she felt hot. Marifer humored her every single time, and they ended up going to the playground and back 5 times in the same day!! Ava had an amazing day, and now all she’s doing is asking when Marifer is coming back. 😊

Kendal Barbour- / 19 Filmmaker, Actress, and Optimist. Hi! I’m a friendly, dependable, and caring person with over 10 years of experience helping care for children and infants. Coming from a big family with four siblings, both older and younger than me, I’ve spent much of my life helping with childcare and learning how to be patient, responsible, and attentive to children’s needs at every stage of development. I am also CPR certified, giving families added peace of mind knowing their children are in safe and capable hands. I genuinely enjoy spending time with kids, whether that means helping with homework, reading stories, planning fun activities, encouraging creativity, or simply being a positive and supportive presence. My goal is always to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and have fun. I also have experience caring for a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, fish, birds, turtles, and lizards, so I’m happy to help with family pets as well. I graduated from a performing arts high school, where I studied acting, dance, stage combat, dialects, and stage management. My creative background helps me connect with children through games, storytelling, arts and crafts, music, and imaginative play. "We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
