Myshira Portage
$19 per hour for 1 child

Hi! My name is Myshira, and I’m a dedicated, dependable, and nurturing caregiver with a genuine passion for working with children. I’m a proud mom of three toddlers, CPR certified, and work as a Medical Assistant, giving me a strong background in health, safety, and compassionate care. I also serve as the secretary at my church, a role that has strengthened my organizational skills, reliability, and commitment to serving others. I’ve been babysitting since I was 13 years old, which has given me years of hands-on experience caring for children of all ages. My goal is always to provide a safe, loving, and engaging environment where children feel comfortable, supported, and encouraged to learn and have fun. I enjoy helping with homework, preparing nutritious meals and snacks, and baking fun treats with kids. I’m also comfortable caring for family pets, including cats. My personality is warm, patient, outgoing, and energetic, and I truly enjoy building positive relationships with both children and their families. I take pride in being someone parents can trust to care for their children as if they were my own.

Hi! My name is Tracy! I would like to introduce myself to you. First and most importantly, I am the mother of two wonderful college age children and have a wonderful husband. I am also currently an elementary teacher! I love my job and love working with children! I have a lot of patience and always have a positive attitude. Prior to teaching I worked at a daycare/preschool. I also babysat two infants daily in my home and watched them as they grew into toddlers. I am CPR and first aid certified as well. I also love interacting and helping seniors! I have helped and enjoy talking with seniors in my own family as well as neighbors. I love to care for seniors because they have lived such a long life and deserve to be treated with respect and kindness. Seniors are a great treasure with so much left to share! Another thing I love is dogs! I have two of my own currently. They bring so much joy! Thank you for your time!

I hired Tracy for a senior sitting job to provide companionship to my mother in an assisted living facility 300 miles away from me. The bond they developed, the support Tracy provided to my mother, and the comfort she provided me exceeded all expectations. My mother received both social and mental stimulation, fresh air, periodic therapy, and a new friendship. Tracy also did several small tasks and brought occasional treats upon my request. She is responsible, thoughtful, compassionate, and kind. She truly is an angel!

$20 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 7 families in Michigan City, IN

Hi! I'm Ariana. I'm a college graduate from Loyola University Chicago with a major in sociology and minor in urban studies. I love studying people and am a very empathetic individual, always staying in touch with others. I have been babysitting for other families since I was 11 years old, starting with friends of my moms and then expanding my work to neighbors and their friends through word of mouth. I am also the oldest in my family, including no older cousins, so I have a natural instinct to take care of others. I have babysat kids of all ages, from infants to middle schoolers and also have experience with children who have disabilities. These experiences include attention disorders, hearing aids, feeding tubes, etc. From October 2020-present, I have worked with children ages infant-11 as a teacher's assistant at the South East Asia Center. My most valuable time has been within the 2 and 3 year old classroom where I create lesson plans, communicate daily with parents about the progress of their children, and facilitate activities. I am intermediate/advanced level Spanish. I have also volunteered as a Big with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program for 2 years and worked with children ages 9-12 there once a week. Working with children has always been a passion of mine and I hope to have a few of my own someday. I'm a very enthusiastic person with an energetic heart that kids have no trouble relating to and confiding in. I am able to help kids with their homework, love playing music with them, having fun outside, and learning about their interests. With that being said, I am also very good at developing boundaries with kids so that they both love AND respect me as the adult. My passions outside of work include music and makeup. I play violin, piano, guitar, and sing as well as write my own music. I also love creating artwork on my own face as well as others'. I love incorporating creativity into my time with children. I often find it inspiring how colorful their minds can be.

She was reliable, punctual, and did a great job helping throughout the shift. She followed instructions well, stayed organized, and was very helpful overall.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
