Hi! I'm Ariana. I'm a college graduate from Loyola University Chicago with a major in sociology and minor in urban studies. I love studying people and am a very empathetic individual, always staying in touch with others. I have been babysitting for other families since I was 11 years old, starting with friends of my moms and then expanding my work to neighbors and their friends through word of mouth. I am also the oldest in my family, including no older cousins, so I have a natural instinct to take care of others. I have babysat kids of all ages, from infants to middle schoolers and also have experience with children who have disabilities. These experiences include attention disorders, hearing aids, feeding tubes, etc. From October 2020-present, I have worked with children ages infant-11 as a teacher's assistant at the South East Asia Center. My most valuable time has been within the 2 and 3 year old classroom where I create lesson plans, communicate daily with parents about the progress of their children, and facilitate activities. I am intermediate/advanced level Spanish. I have also volunteered as a Big with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program for 2 years and worked with children ages 9-12 there once a week. Working with children has always been a passion of mine and I hope to have a few of my own someday. I'm a very enthusiastic person with an energetic heart that kids have no trouble relating to and confiding in. I am able to help kids with their homework, love playing music with them, having fun outside, and learning about their interests.
