Hello! My name is Kayla. Please read my profile before booking to see if I and my policies are a good fit for your family, as I am only accepting ad hoc care needs and not currently looking to add a scheduled position :) Note: I will be out of the country on my honeymoon from 2/14/19 through 3/4/2019. A little bit about myself: I enjoy working on my house, gardening, going to the theater (Hamilton!), politics, running, traveling, hiking, tennis, cooking, reading (!!!!), good television (love The Office!), entertaining friends and family, and learning. I am a happy young woman, very organized, focused, self motivated, responsible, punctual and energetic. I like to be active and fill my time up with hobbies and activities. I have my own reliable transportation (my own car), as well as live one minute from the Shady Grove Metro station, and am well versed in driving in rush hour, early mornings and late nights. I am currently in college as an elementary education major; my class schedule changes each term. I have been babysitting independently from eleven, with experience with a wide variety of ages, from two months to fifteen years old. I have previously tutored elementary and middle school aged children for four years and completed a teaching internship in a 5th grade classroom. Currently (Dec 2018) in addition to work for a few families, I am finishing up my position as a full time nanny (end date 1/4/2019) for a now 3 year old, a 7.5 and and 9.5 year old Mon-Thurs 7-6pm. I have been with them for 7.5 years. I create, plan and organize that include games, crafts, yoga, songs, books, cooking, science experiments, field trips and other diverse, fun activities. We go on outings to the library, different parks and trails, museums, play spaces, gyms, theaters, the pool and water parks, bowling, ice skating, nature centers and gardens, memorials, even train stations, fire departments and recycling centers! We get outdoors often, eat well and try to be well rounded. Reading is a passion of mine, and I love to pass it on to younger generations. While we learn a lot, we also have a ton of fun and laugh the whole time! Policy: -Four hour minimum. -Hours booked will be charged. -For overnights totaling more than 25 hours, I charge sleeping hours at 1/2 rate. -First cancellation without charge; 50% of booking fee for each cancellation thereafter. -I do not accept checks. Electronic payment (UrbanSitter, PayPal, Venmo) or cash.

Booked by 25 families in Suburb Maryland Fac, MD

Hello Parents/ Guardians, my name is Italia-Karine (she/her). I am a college student majoring in Early Education Technology and Nursing. Outside of my academic endeavors, I am the eldest child of a migrant family (from Cameroon). My familial life plays a significant role in my ability to care for children and seniors as I've constantly lived and catered towards grandparents, younger siblings, and cousins. On a professional note, I am currently employed as a private educator with an organization. Under this title, I communicate effectively and efficiently between myself, my leader, and the supervisors of the schools I am scheduled to teach in, I create lesson plans for our classroom time, guide school-aged children on the importance of social studies through fun and interactive methods, as well as oversee the safety of the students while they are in my care. I also have a CPR certification and a State-recognized document stating that I am in good standing to care for children ( no abusive record). I speak three languages, English, French, and Spanish. I am exceptionally good at tutoring and helping young children remain engaged in educational tasks ie homework, and studying sight words. I also excel in domestic chores such as cooking healthy meals, cleaning, completing necessary errands, etc. In the past I have volunteered and worked as a health aide. This helps with knowing how to professionally best care for anyone who may be facing a limitation on what they're able to do independently. I have a valid driver's license as well. I am based in the Rockville area of Maryland but I am more than willing to go beyond this to support you and your family. I am also flexible in terms of pricing and time so feel free to inbox based on your situation. I hope my introduction has left a positive impression in your mind! I hope to hear from you soon!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
