Hi! My name is Sydney. I recently moved back home to Minnesota after 5 years of exploring the Hawaiian islands while nannying full time. I have been nannying and babysitting for over 10 years and have a strong passion for teaching and caring for children. I was a daycare teacher for infants and toddlers up until my move to Hawaii, so I have a lot of experience caring for multiple children at once (as well as multitasking). I am a very reliable, trustworthy and organized person and I do not mind taking on other household tasks like cleaning, laundry, driving kids to activities or even errands. I have a sweet golden retriever mix and years of experience with caring for and fostering animals, so pets are not an issue at all for me. My favorite part of childcare is watching children grow and learn every single day. I still keep in touch with many of the families I have nannied for and getting updates from them always makes my day. Since I have worked with so many different families in the past 5 years I come with wonderful references that I would be happy to provide upon request. I am CPR and first aid certified and I have plenty of experience caring for all ages including infants, as well as children with special needs. I have a very flexible schedule and am happy to answer any questions you may have for me.

Sydney is an absolutely wonderful sitter! She has a great deal of experience and it shows. I trusted her with my infant for our first ever parents’ night out, and she made sure my little one was safe, happy, fed, and well-rested. I will be reaching out again! Thank you!

Brianna 1 review
Plymouth
$18 per hour for 1 child

I’m a 24 year old, college educated caregiver with a BFA in Graphic Design and a strong background in childcare. I have experience nannying for a 4 and 7 year old, and I’ve been a consistent caregiver for my 3 year old niece since she was 4 months old. I have a big imagination and love encouraging imaginative play, outdoor exploration, and creative activities. I bring a warm, patient, and playful approach to childcare and enjoy supporting kids as they grow, learn, and express themselves.

I’m so happy to recommend my Sister, Brianna Pothen, as an absolutely wonderful babysitter for our family. I have a very energetic three-year-old daughter and a newborn son, so finding someone patient, engaged, and truly present with the kids has been a game-changer—and that’s exactly what Brianna is. She is incredible at keeping my toddler happily entertained without ever relying on screens. We both share the same philosophy about limiting screen time, and I love that she never turns on the TV or hands over a tablet “just to keep him quiet.” The only exception is the rare occasion when she pops on something calming for ten minutes while she’s preparing dinner for the kids—and even then she feels guilty about it! Otherwise, it’s arts and crafts, dress-up, silly made-up games, “restaurant” with play food, blanket forts, dance parties, you name it. My daughter literally jumps up and down screaming her name when she hears she’s coming over. She talks about “the funny games we made up with “Auntie Boo” for days afterward. With the baby she’s equally gentle and attentive—rocking, singing, soothing, changing diapers without ever being asked. She somehow manages both ages beautifully, giving my newborn the calm he needs while still making my three-year-old feel like the most special big sister on earth. Brianna is responsible, punctual, communicative, and genuinely loves what she does. We trust her completely and feel so lucky to have found someone who parents the way we do—lots of creativity, laughter, and real connection, almost no screens. Any family would be fortunate to have her!

Maria 2 reviews
Albertville
$23 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 4 families in Buffalo, MN

Hii my name is Maria, I've been working with children for about two years, primarily caring for toddlers through older kids. My experience has included everything from engaging little ones in play and helping with routines, to planning fun activities for older children. Growing up with a younger sibling helped me get a sense of responsibility and patience early on, and it's a big part of what sparked my interest in childcare. I love getting creative with kids whether it's making crafts, doing simple science experiments, or putting together themed activity days. I'm also happy to take children out for a change of scenery, whether that's to a local park, museum, or an after-school activity. I'm comfortable driving and enjoy helping kids explore the world around them in fun and safe ways. I am also starting college in the fall.

Maria was fantastic with our 2.5 year old twins. She was energetic, kind, and the girls loved her. We will absolutely be having her back!!!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
