Hi. My name is Miranda. Currently I am working as a substitute teacher at elementary schools. Thus, I have worked with an array of children. I have experience caring for infants and children of other ages. When babysitting, I like to do art projects with kids, read books, and take walks (if and when possible). I like being silly and goofy with children if they are up for it. I defer to the parents and the child as to what is best in terms of activities. I have housesat and cared for other people’s dogs and cats quite a bit. I can clean a house (I was a hotel maid for three months), cook meals, and run errands in my car. I'm responsible, dependable, and communicable. I have a master’s degree in public health and have lived long term in several countries. I welcome diversity.

I’m from Colombia and I have lived in the USA for a year while working as an aupair. During my first 6 months in the country I was taking care of 3 girls and a little newborn, and during my last 6 months I was working for 2 girls. I’m an electromechanical tech and while I was in college I used to work as a babysitter in my spare time or as an academic tutor. I am a good driver, a good swimmer, and am trained in infant CPR.

I love taking care of children, and pets. I have many years of experience taking care of both children, and infants. I will treat your children, family, pets, and home, as if they were my own. I am very flexible, friendly, and accommodating, and welcome “real time” feedback. I grew up, on a farm, in Wisconsin, so I’ve always taken care of animals, my entire life, and it is second nature to me. I had chores, from a VERY early age, on the farm, and was responsible for the care, and well being, of all the animals that I took care of. I really enjoy being active, and being outdoors, so I would love to spend time, with your child, and pet, outdoors, if possible. Trips to the park, stroller rides, walking to the ball park, arts and crafts, interactive story time, reading aloud from different kinds of books, are all activities that I love. I’ve also played the piano since I was nine years old, and would love to share my love of all things music, with your child. If you have a piano, in your home, we can even do some impromptu mini-piano lessons, if your child is interested. I have lots of years of experience taking care of families that have multiple children. I am also comfortable preparing meals, and snacks, sometimes even for the parents. 😆. I am comfortable with picking up around the house, making sure things are organized for when mom and dad get home, and throwing some laundry into the wash machine, and dryer. I do love pets too, and dogs are my absolute favorite.

I’m an artistic and creative person, so arts and crafts are always part of my day, and I enjoy engaging in kid-like activities such as collecting toys, and even watching cartoons. Feeding my inner child brings me a lot of joy which I think makes me relatable and helps kids feel comfortable and excited to spend time together. I’m patient, attentive, and energetic, and I love creating a safe and nurturing environment where children can play, learn, and explore. My background in babysitting multiple kids of different ages has given me experience in keeping routines, encouraging imagination, and adapting to each child’s unique personality. I have always enjoyed spending time with kids, I did a lot of babysitting for family friends growing up and have now been working in a daycare for a little over a year. I’m certified in CPR and first aid, and have my drivers license and a car. I love seeing kids use their imagination and my favorite part of working with them is watching them develop their own personalities. I am located in Woodbury but am willing to commute 20 ish minutes if possible :) I would be looking for full time employment, starting mid September. I’m currently in the process of obtaining my phlebotomy certification, so it would hopefully be a shorter term job as I want to find work in the medical field at some point.
