Hi, my name is Zoe! I have worked with kids in various settings over the past 12 years as a babysitter, nanny, tutor, and ski instructor. My previous work has been with a wide range of ages from newborns to teenagers. I have experience working with different dietary restrictions and food allergies. I am trained on how to use an epipen and have previously been CPR certified. Currently, I am a student at Concordia University in St. Paul studying Child Learning and Development. I enjoy crafts, the outdoors, reading, and staying active. One of my favorite parts of working with kids is engaging in imaginative play. I love helping kids explore their surroundings as well encouraging them to use their minds to solve problems and come up with new ideas. I place a high value on play and feel it is fundamental to the growth and development of children. Through play children gain new skills and understand the world better. As a caregiver it is an honor to be apart of children’s play experiences. I believe that it is important to guide children so they can develop critical thinking skills rather than giving them all the answers or simply doing it for them. My hope is to not only help children flourish but to see families thrive. Hi! My name is Sydney. I recently moved back home to Minnesota after 5 years of exploring the Hawaiian islands while nannying full time. I have been nannying and babysitting for over 10 years and have a strong passion for teaching and caring for children. I was a daycare teacher for infants and toddlers up until my move to Hawaii, so I have a lot of experience caring for multiple children at once (as well as multitasking). I am a very reliable, trustworthy and organized person and I do not mind taking on other household tasks like cleaning, laundry, driving kids to activities or even errands. I have a sweet golden retriever mix and years of experience with caring for and fostering animals, so pets are not an issue at all for me. My favorite part of childcare is watching children grow and learn every single day. I love being active and planning enriching days filled with the outdoors, music, art, science, books and more. I'm also an animal lover and very comfortable with all varieties of pets. I've tutored in most subjects and age groups and have many years of experience with neuro-divergent youth. I'm a flexible and playful, but can set clear boundaries. Safety is always the priority. My name is Joanie Merriman. People would describe me as kind, compassionate, loving, caring and lots of fun! I am very responsible with a high level of integrity. I love people, children, animals and nature above all things. My passions have led me to pursue caregiving, for both humans and animals, as a fulfilling path. As a youth, I went through a childcare program and began babysitting when I was just 12. When I was in my twenties I worked at the San Diego Opera. While there I acted as the in house nanny for all the opera singers that would come through. In addition, I was part time nanny to the General Director’s two boys for six years. I have tons of experience in childcare. Most recently, I’ve cared for my great-niece for the last year since she was just three weeks old. After the Opera, I moved to Los Angeles where I primarily worked in business administration while also doing childcare part time. Babies and children are a passion of mine. They bring me so much joy! I am very playful and attentive; children take to me naturally. In 2007 my big sister was diagnosed with brain cancer. In 2008 I stopped working to be her full time caregiver. I was her primary caregiver for ten years. Over this time, her illness took on many forms. She developed dementia that became so severe I was bathing, changing her diapers and feeding her. I also have cared for my brother who has traumatic brain injury for over fifteen years. He is now in a care home but I still serve as his primary outside of the facility. In addition, I have my 89 year old mother that I am privileged to be able to care for when she is in need of assistance. All of this to say, I am very experienced in the care of children and adults of all ages with both physical and intellectual/neurological disabilities. Since my sister’s passing, I have been self employed doing home organization and resale. However, this has not been fulfilling for me; not enriching of my life. My desire to do more meaningful work has led me to pursue caregiving professionally; that and the urgings of many who site how caring I am and how natural it is for me. Caring for children, adults and animals comes natural for me. I am excited about this move in my life. I look forward to meeting you and learning how I can help care for a loved one(s) in your life.
