I began working as a babysitter in my teen years and loved it so much that I continued babysitting throughout college and into my 20s. After getting married and becoming a socialworker, I became a mother to my own child, who is now 18 years old and getting ready to go off to college this month! I have the experience of being both a babysitter, as well as a parent. I am CPR trained and because I worked for many years in Early Intervention, I am very knowledgeable about child development. I’m also a playful, energetic person who will engage with your child(ren). I love being outside, and enjoy crafts.

Awesome and easy to work with!

Hi! My name is Ebonie, and I've been caring for children over several years. My experience comes from babysitting my siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and children from other families, giving me experience with kids of different ages and personalities. I'm CPR trained and prioritize creating a safe, fun, and positive environment where children feel comfortable and parents have peace of mind. I'm dependable, patient, and enjoy keeping children engaged through games, crafts, outdoor activities, reading, and helping with homework when needed. I am also willing to help with cleaning or other household chores.

After teaching journalism for 20 years at a Big Ten school, I retired to North Carolina to be closer to my family. However, I find myself missing the interaction with young people and the chance at 'teach moments' whenever those opportunities arise. I am older than some of your care givers but with that comes a varied background, I have worked in radio & TV, choreographed high school musicals, and dance competitions. As for academics, I went all the way up to but did not complete my PhD (babies came along ;). So I have written, and graded academic papers at every level from the high school level through college. In addition, I am currently helping to care for my 89 year old mother, cook part-time at a senior living retirement home and give respite care fo my 21 year old nephew who has a seizure disorder . So I feel I am well qualified to take care of your loved one, no matter their age, while also engaging them in learning activities or their favorite hobbies. Also, I grew up on a small farm so no pet, is too large, small, or exotic for me to give it some TLC while you can't be there. I am happy to do errands, light housekeeping, and homework along with the regular caregiving duties. I am hoping to find something on a regular basis but am wiling to take a job until we make sure we are the right fit for everyone involved

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
