I am a patient, dependable, and nurturing childcare professional with nearly 27 years of paid experience working with children. My background includes private daycare, nanny and babysitting care, and approximately 20 years as a paraprofessional with the New York City Department of Education. I hold an Associate in Science degree in Early Childhood Education and am currently certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
I have experience caring for children from infancy through approximately age 11, including feeding, bottles, diapering, naps, developmental play, reading, educational activities, and maintaining family routines. I also have extensive experience supporting children with ADD, ADHD, co-occurring autism and ADHD, and other developmental, behavioral, educational, and social-emotional needs.
I believe children thrive when they feel safe, respected, understood, and encouraged. My approach is calm, attentive, structured, and individualized to each child’s personality and needs. I enjoy reading with children, puzzles, educational games, creative activities, and helping them build confidence and independence.
I am comfortable caring for multiple children, working in homes with pets, and helping with reasonable child-related household tasks. I also have personal family-caregiving experience, including providing hands-on care for my father at home while he received hospice care.
