Hi! I am 24 years old and a recent graduate of NYU Steinhardt’s Master in Musical Theatre. Growing up I babysat for family friends often, ages ranging from under 1 to 11 years old. My two favorite people in the world are my niece and nephew who are the most inquisitive,energetic, and kind little humans. I love being able to nurture curiousity while caring for kids. I have a musical background and cooking is my hobby so I know your kids would have a blast with me as their sitter! My hobby is also cooking! I studied at a traditional Italian restaurant in Siena for two months, and my Italian mother taught me everything she knows! I can cook and meal plan for a big family as well as a small household. My current job is as a House Manager and Costumer at Blue Man Group. I love when kids come to show because they are so excited and ask so many questions and are absolutely the most fun audience members. We often have school groups ranging from preschool to high school and engaging with the students and their questions is one of the most fun aspects of my job. I do not have a car but I do have a valid driver’s license and can take the train.

Hi, my name is Sam! I love working with children of all ages but have the most experience with kids 3-12. I’m originally from the Pacific Northwest but moved to New York to explore job options in childcare, fashion, public relations, and the arts. I learned more about how much care, time, and attention children require after caring for a 2 and 5 year old for three years. In high school, I was a camp counselor for my school’s outdoor program and a swim instructor for children aged 3-8. I also consistently volunteered at kids basketball games, book fairs, field trips, and art classes. Post high school, I studied marketing for two years at Walla Walla Community College. I then completed the AmeriCorps NCCC program, where I traveled with a team to Texas and Colorado to assist communities in need with long term disaster recovery, mold remediation, environmental conservation, and more. One of the main reasons I love working with children is their innate love for exploration, creativity, and learning: just like myself! I believe that children need a strong, safe, and trustworthy support system to thrive and I will provide all of those qualities. I love to paint, sing, dance, read, write, craft, spend time in nature, and explore new places- all of which are traits that I directly apply when working with children. Through AmeriCorps, I was given the chance to volunteer weekly at a boys and girls clubs and that was my favorite volunteer opportunity by far. I helped the kids move through their activities, identify various emotions, set boundaries with peers by saying “stop!” or “i do not like that!”, and focusing on creating a safe space for them to feel heard, understood, and regulated. In addition to childcare, I am experienced in caring for dogs, cats, chickens, beta fish, bunnies, and geckos (my family had a lot of pets!). Additionally, having worked several customer service jobs and maintained the cleanliness of spaces throughout the years, I am highly experienced in housekeeping services and running errands.
