Hi families! My name is Faith, and I’m a proud Puerto Rican who genuinely loves working with children. I currently work as a paraprofessional in the NYC Department of Education, where I support children with autism. This experience has taught me the importance of patience, compassion, communication, consistency, and understanding that every child is unique and may learn and express themselves differently.
I’m a very nurturing, hands-on, and attentive caregiver. When I’m caring for your child, they will have my full attention, I love being present, listening to them, encouraging them, and making sure they feel comfortable, valued, and heard. I’m also big on building confidence and self-esteem while encouraging positive behavior, independence, and good habits in a way that feels supportive rather than strict.
One of my favorite things about working with children is using my imagination! I’m naturally creative and love coming up with fun activities that keep kids engaged, whether that’s arts and crafts, dancing, reading, imaginative play, or creating our own little adventures. I love to read myself and would be excited to help children discover books and develop a love for reading too.
I’m also a very resourceful person and love cooking. I can make a great meal even when I’m working with very little, and I enjoy getting children involved in age-appropriate activities when possible. I’m warm, humble, encouraging, and naturally nurturing I may even spoil your little ones with lots of love! At the same time, I understand that being a caregiver means setting appropriate boundaries and knowing when to be the responsible adult rather than simply being their friend.
Most importantly, I want children in my care to feel safe, respected, encouraged, and genuinely happy. My goal is for families to feel confident knowing their children are in caring, attentive, and capable hands.
