Hello, my name is Edie. I live in the Sheepshead Bay area of Brooklyn. I am a single Mom to my daughter who has just passed the Bar ! I have many years of experience with children of all ages. When Super Storm Sandy hit I had to start working from home which I continue to do to this day. As many of my daughter’s friends parents were unable to stay at home, I found myself with a houseful of children including infants. After that, I then permanently became the afterschool care giver for a couple of families. This included picking them up at school during the week, taking them to activities, etc. My house was always the home where all of my daughter's friends were welcomed all of the time and I miss those days as they are all grown. I am not a fan of public transportation but I do drive. I have a 7 seater SUV (Toyota Highlander) and a perfect driving record. Not knowing your location, I don't know if that will work as parking may be an obstacle. I am very hands on. I enjoy engaging with children of all ages from reading a book to baking. Cooking is one of my favorite things to do. Weather permitting, I love to take walks and give the younger children playtime in the park. I love animals especially dogs. I have my little Pekingese Sunni to keep me company.

Hi there! I'm Jemima, a Human Biology student at Hunter College with plans to become a nurse and pediatric speech-language pathologist. Some fun facts about myself are that I am a self-taught guitarist, enjoy reading, and love working with children. After years working in hospitality and most recently as a Corporate Catering Director within a law firm, I decided to take a step in a new direction and focus more intentionally on the things that have always mattered to me: psychology, wellness, and working with children. I’m currently pursuing my degree in Psychology while continuing to deepen my yoga teaching practice. I’m a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), certified in Children’s Yoga, and CPR/AED/First Aid certified for both adults and children. Caring for children has also been part of my life for many years. I began babysitting and nannying in high school and continued throughout my early college years. Today, I’m also a very involved aunt to my 6-year-old niece and almost 1-year-old nephew. My niece, Emily, is on the autism spectrum, and spending time with her has given me an even deeper appreciation for how differently children communicate, process their surroundings, and express their needs.
