I have been in childcare for over 30 years. At 16 years old I started working in nurseries (daycare) in England, and later returned to college to take a diploma (degree) in childcare and education. I specialized in caring for babies, and did my extra credit classes and work experience in neonatal care and handling premature infants. During my college years I worked as an overnight nanny for an infant as well as in an after school club (program) with 5-11 year olds. Since then I have worked as a nanny for two different families, a neonatal infant nurse in a busy maternity hospital, and also as a classroom assistant in schools and nurseries (ages 3-5 years).
