Samuel $21 per hour for 1 child

Hi, my name is Sam! I love working with children of all ages but have the most experience with kids 3-12. I’m originally from the Pacific Northwest but moved to New York to explore job options in childcare, fashion, public relations, and the arts. I learned more about how much care, time, and attention children require after caring for a 2 and 5 year old for three years. In high school, I was a camp counselor for my school’s outdoor program and a swim instructor for children aged 3-8. I also consistently volunteered at kids basketball games, book fairs, field trips, and art classes. Post high school, I studied marketing for two years at Walla Walla Community College. I then completed the AmeriCorps NCCC program, where I traveled with a team to Texas and Colorado to assist communities in need with long term disaster recovery, mold remediation, environmental conservation, and more. One of the main reasons I love working with children is their innate love for exploration, creativity, and learning: just like myself! I believe that children need a strong, safe, and trustworthy support system to thrive and I will provide all of those qualities. I love to paint, sing, dance, read, write, craft, spend time in nature, and explore new places- all of which are traits that I directly apply when working with children. Through AmeriCorps, I was given the chance to volunteer weekly at a boys and girls clubs and that was my favorite volunteer opportunity by far. I helped the kids move through their activities, identify various emotions, set boundaries with peers by saying “stop!” or “i do not like that!”, and focusing on creating a safe space for them to feel heard, understood, and regulated. In addition to childcare, I am experienced in caring for dogs, cats, chickens, beta fish, bunnies, and geckos (my family had a lot of pets!). Additionally, having worked several customer service jobs and maintained the cleanliness of spaces throughout the years, I am highly experienced in housekeeping services and running errands.

Cha $26 per hour for 1 child

Hello Parents and Future Families, My name is Cha, and I am a 28-year-old Hmong American woman. Growing up as the "second mom" to six sisters and one brother taught me the value of patience, responsibility, and caring for others from a young age. Being a big sister has always been one of my greatest joys, and I bring that same nurturing energy to every child I work with. I am passionate about supporting children as they learn, grow, and discover the world around them. Throughout my career, I have worked in caregiving and service-oriented roles that have strengthened my compassion, adaptability, and communication skills. I have experience caring for infants, toddlers, and kindergarten-aged children through my work at Miniapple International Montessori School. In addition, I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for three years before moving to Massachusetts. These experiences have taught me the importance of providing safe, attentive, and high-quality care while helping individuals feel supported, comfortable, and valued. As an UrbanSitter caregiver, my top priorities are safety, trust, and creating a positive environment where children can thrive. I believe strong relationships between caregivers, parents, and children are built through open communication, consistency, and genuine connection. A few fun facts about me: I play guitar, enjoy singing, love reading, and am passionate about helping children explore their emotions and stay curious about the world around them. I enjoy meeting new people and creating meaningful connections with the families I serve. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I look forward to the opportunity to support your family and care for your children. Warmly, Cha Lor

Mariana 2 reviews
$25 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 8 families in Flushing, NY

I’m Mariana. I’m 27 and I was an Au Pair for almost 3 years in the US, where I took care of kids from 3 to 11 years old and them I worked as a full time nanny for a family and took care of a 2 year old. I’m currently getting my master’s degree. Before I became an Au Pair, I was an English teacher in Colombia, where I taught kids, teens and adults. I speak Spanish, English and basic French. I’m very clean and I encourage the kids to always help me clean up their toys and to be as independent as possible. I’ve also worked as a petsitter, and I absolutely love animals. I grew up in a farm with lots of dogs, bunnies, chickens and parrots so I have a lot of practice. I also have experience caring for seniors since I grew up with my grandparents, so I think I’m not just a nanny, but I’m a caregiver of all sorts.

Wonderful! Boys really liked her and she was tidy, responsive and flexible with hours.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
