A Bit About Me – My Journey in Childcare Back in 2017, I found myself stepping into the world of childcare, mostly curious (and a little excited) about the fun, messy, and unpredictable world of daycare. What started as just a job quickly turned into something more—I realized how much I genuinely enjoy being around kids and helping them grow. That spark led me to enroll at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn to study childhood education more seriously. For about 3.5 years, I wore a lot of different hats in daycares—everything from assistant teacher to lead teacher—working with little ones as young as 6 months all the way up to 5 years old. After that, I shifted gears a bit and spent a year in afterschool programs with the older kids (ages 5 to 13) as a group leader. I’ve also been a helping hand for a few families on the side, stepping in whenever they’ve needed extra support. What I love most are the everyday moments with the kids—the silly laughs, the unexpected questions, the small wins that mean everything. No two days are ever the same, and that’s what keeps it exciting. For me, it’s all about being part of a child’s journey, watching them grow, and knowing I played even a small part in it.
