I live in Brooklyn with my dog, Bagel. I've spent the last 2 years as a substitute teacher at 3 different schools & as an occasional babysitter. Previously, I worked as a Kindergarten teacher at Grace Church before ultimately deciding that, though I love working with kids, I did not want to pursue teaching as a career. Hi! My name is Mehak and I am about to wrap up my third year in a school-clinical child psychology doctoral program. I have been working with kids and adolescents of various ages over the past 10 years during my undergraduate and graduate careers. I am passionate and hopeful about becoming a child psychologist in the future, specifically implementing types of therapy such as play therapy and creative arts therapy. I think this sets me up for success when it comes to interacting with children because I prioritize a solution-focused and strengths-based approach when navigating issues related to discipline and educating children. Outside of my work in psychology, I love seeing live music, comedy shows, doing karaoke with friends, and exploring restaurants and dessert shops with friends.
