Living with both my aunts and uncles under one roof, babysitting my younger cousins wasn't a job it was apart of my life. Before graduating from college, I studied abroad in South Korea. where I taught English as a second language in winter/summer camps for younger learners (age range: 5-10). For the past four and half years, I have had the opportunity to care for children varying in age from 2 1/2 months to 11 years old from UrbanSitter since 2012 and working as an on-call nanny for Bright Horizons agency for 4 years. Currently work as Special Education D75 Paraprofessional for the DOE. Working with Children with ADHD and Autism. What I like most about babysitting is developing activities that focus of creative exploration like coloring, drawing, painting, legos, imaginary story telling, stage play, and going on library/park/ museum outings. I also love reading and sing songs. In my free time, I love practicing Yoga, dance, and reading.

Hi Prospective Parent(s)! My name is Fiona and I’m a junior at Colby College studying International Relations, Economics, and Chinese. I’m back home in New York City for summer break and would love to help out any families in need of childcare. I have prior experience caring for toddlers and elementary-aged children and have babysat since high school. I really enjoy spending quality time with the children I care for and getting to know their personalities and quirks. Though I may be younger than some other applicants, I take safety very seriously and will make it my number one priority. A little about myself — My name is Amanda (it’s also my legal name alongside my Burmese) I’m a Design&Tech student at Parsons; I took a gap year before I got to New York and spent the year doing community service by teaching English to underprivileged/orphaned kids in Burma, along with several law internships (big leap between left&right brain). Over the years I’ve found that not only do I get along with children, I’m also the floofy-lucid-dreamy person among my friends haha. I like to think I’m very easygoing and fun to be around and I’m very good with playing along the lines of silly & stern. I spend most of my time with kids (if we’re indoors) talking to them, asking many many questions, and always making them feel like their voices are heard as a person and not just as a child, but of course I’ve also always been a sporty person so we usually go on adventures around the city and play sports!! I love drawing from these experiences and using them in my creative conceptual work as well. I’m also a HUGE reader, and it’s part of the package that you may lose your children to the harry potter cult. P.S. Once I dropped a bowl of fudge in front of a kid, and I said, “Oh fudge” which shows that I am child appropriate AND have a sense of humor.
