Hi! I'm Christel. I'm a caring, responsible, and patient person who genuinely enjoys spending time with children. Over the past few years, I've gained hands-on experience helping care for infants, toddlers, and school-aged children ranging from 7 months to 10 years old. From keeping little ones entertained with games and activities to preparing meals, helping with daily routines, and caring for them independently when needed, I always strive to create a safe and fun environment. I’ve worked with kids since middle school, starting by babysitting my little sister and tutoring peers, which sparked my love for helping children learn and grow. By 8th grade, I was an assistant teacher at Hebrew school and babysat my Rabbi’s daughter. In high school, I became a YMCA lifeguard (CPR certified) and taught swim lessons at summer camp. Throughout college, I spent four years as a certified tutor at the Boys & Girls Club, helping kids from 1st through 12th grade with reading, writing, math, and study skills. I graduated from Tufts University, where I studied Psychology and Economics, and have an intermediate level of Spanish. I love working with kids—watching their imagination develop, fostering their curiosity, and helping them learn. I also grew up with seven dogs, so I’m very comfortable with pets and happy to help with them too.

Growing up as the third of nine siblings, I’ve always been surrounded by children and learned early how to keep little ones safe, entertained, and on routine. I’m comfortable helping with homework, bedtime routines, and creating fun, calm activities instead of just screen time. I also have experience caring for pets, including dog sitting, so furry family members are always welcome too! I have open availability and can often accept last minute bookings. I am a student at Teachers College at Columbia currently getting my Masters in Elementary Inclusive Education. I have always loved being around and working with children and am studying to be a teacher! I have been babysitting since I was 13, a swim coach for ages 5-18 for over 7 years, a camp counselor, and been working in elementary schools for 3 years now while studying to be a full time teacher. I also am a pet sitter through rover and love being around dogs! I am a very hard worker with a positive attitude. I am super creative and love doing crafts and new activities with kids.
