Booked by 1 family in Long Island City, NY

“I’m a caring, dependable, and patient caregiver with several years of experience supporting individuals and families. I have worked as a Direct Support Professional, including experience caring for people with special needs, helping with daily routines, meals, cleaning, supervision, and creating a safe and comfortable environment. I also have experience with children and truly enjoy helping them learn, play, and feel cared for. I am CPR certified, responsible, attentive, and respectful of each family’s needs. I’m also comfortable helping with light housekeeping and pets. I’m looking for a family I can build a trusting, long-term relationship with.”

“Shantae helped me out on two occasions, both were busy shifts and involved a lot of work. And my baby was in pain cause she was badly constipated. I wanted someone who would remain calm and help out as much as possible. Not only did Shantae do that, she also made sure that my entire apartment was clean, organized and vacuumed before she left. I had two urgent projects from work that day and even though my toddler was not being particularly friendly, Shantae took good care of her, allowing me to focus 100 percent on my work. When my husband came home he said our place looked spic and span, because Shantae had removed all the clutter from the surfaces, neatly organizing unused kitchen equipment into the closet, and made my daughter laugh out loud multiple times later that day in a crazy-fun way which meant she was having fun. I could tell one thing about Shantae — she is a strong, hard working woman, someone who will bring joy, warmth, and fun to your home.”

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
