Hi my name is Karen and I am from San Diego , California . I graduated from Clairemont High School and attended college. My major was child development. I moved to New York almost 4 years ago and it’s going well for me here . I have a lot of experience(6 years) working with kids, growing up my mother was a babysitter so I was always around children and still am! I can provide references upon request , and my availability is currently open! One of the main reasons I love babysitting is because I have a lot of patient and just working with children and making them laugh really brightens a day up. In my free time I like cooking, making puzzles , and working out!

Karen is a natural with kids, our son (3 years) and daughter (6 months) took to her instantly. She has a very calm demeanor which helps keep the kids calm, especially our high energy toddler. Karen is on time every morning, attentive, follows direction well, and follows all of our Covid protocols without fail. The two biggest things that impressed us about Karen is that 1) she was able to get our toddler, who has become a picky eater, to eat all his food consistently and 2) has successfully managed to almost fully potty train him within two weeks. We would definitely recommend Karen to anyone looking for a high quality nanny/babysitter.

Hey Folks! West Harlem resident for 10 plus years and South Jersey Native, here. Muhlenberg College Grad, Student of Theatre. Actor, Writer, Theatre Deviser, Teaching Arist, Arts Non Profit Co-founder. Full of life force, love, and laughter and ready to help out with your child care needs. Able to socialize and give positive stimulation to children I worked with while also keeping a keen eye for any health incidents that arise, and in that case, able to quickly, calmly, efficiently get the health professionals to assist the child in need.

My 3.5 year old really liked Laura and says she wants her to come back and play! Laura did a great job, especially since my daughter had been very clingy/moody due to a baby sister coming soon! There were no tears and I came back to a very happy girl. She did a great job engaging her and helping her warm up right away. We will definitely have her back soon!

I am a patient, compassionate, and dependable caregiver with experience caring for children, pets, and maintaining a clean home. I have worked with children since the age of 14 and naturally connect with them through my nurturing, calm, and attentive personality. I am currently 20 years old and expecting my own child, which has deepened my understanding of how important trust, safety, and reassurance are for parents. I also have about a year of experience working at a doggy daycare, caring for dogs of different sizes and temperaments, and I understand that pets are family too. In addition, I am reliable with household cleaning and organization and take pride in creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment. I am kind, responsible, adaptable, and truly passionate about caregiving.

She was so kind and thoughtful. I never truly had a certain babysitter to watch my children so this was a last minute thing. She made sure everything was taken care of and my kids absolutely adored her. Even stayed a little when I returned to help me with a few things. I would definitely hire her again

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
