I’m an international student from Brazil currently doing my Master of Public Health in NYC. I’ve always been very involved with my family back home. I helped raise my younger brother, supporting him with daily routines and school, and I’m very close to my two nieces, Zoe and Luiza. Whenever I’m home, I help my siblings with feeding, playtime, homework, and making sure the girls are happy and well cared for. I was a toddler English teacher during college, and I’m comfortable with children of different ages. I’ve also supported my parents in caring for my grandparents, which taught me a lot about responsibility, patience, and being attentive to people’s needs. I’m active and energetic, I’m a runner, played soccer in college, and enjoy staying active.

Hi - My name is Sara, and I’m currently a second-year master’s candidate in the Department of Environmental Health Science as part of Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. I enjoy babysitting and have grown up helping family and friends by caring for infants, toddlers, and kids since I was 16. My responsibilities have included changing diapers, warming bottles, making snacks, watching them while the parents are away, getting them ready for bed, walking them to their bus stops, storytelling, and even some arts and crafts! I worked with multiple clients as a self-employed private educator overseas for ~5 years. I taught a self-developed curriculum based on the experts’ approach to teaching English as a foreign language. I tutored English, Science, Mathematics, and History for students in international schools. (1st grade to 12th). As well as English reading and writing for students with learning difficulties such as Dyslexia. Additionally, I assisted in developing the curriculum for Happy Bees overseas before the grand opening and held a preschool and kindergarten teacher position. I volunteered at a nursing home throughout high school. I recently received a bachelor of science degree in community health, which has deepened my understanding of populations in every age group. As the years pass, I’ve been assisting my parents with more tasks and am very comfortable with senior care. I can do light cooking, help with organizing, or other responsibilities. (I also enjoy technology-free conversation zones and board games). I am a big fan of pets! I’ve had turtles, birds, and cats. I have five cats back home, one of which is the queen, who gave birth to three healthy kittens in my bed, refusing to do so anywhere else in the house. Of course, I was there for her every step of the way, soothing and feeding her calming treats. I am very familiar with their care and needs. While I’ve never had a dog, I’ve walked my friends’ and thoroughly enjoy their company. If needed, I am open to day/weekend-long babysitting, pet care, and housesitting.
