I’ve been working as a nanny in NYC for the 2 year,s and babysitting since I was 12, caring for kids of all ages, from infants to pre-teens. I am currently working with a family of 4 boys, ages 6 years to 6 months. I am looking for other temporary jobs while they are out of town for the next couple of weeks. My responsibilities include taking and picking up kids from school, taking them to their various activities and extra curricular activities, cooking and meal time, and getting ready for bed, along with general care taking, playing, and supervision. I enjoy meeting kids where they are at, engaging in their interests and joys, and creating a space where they can feel safe and cared for. I am currently a graduate student studying social work at Fordham University where I’m learning how to support children in meaningful and developmentally appropriate ways. As apart of my program, I work 3x a week in an elementary school doing one-on-one counseling with children ages 6-10 with behavioral and developmental issues. Hello! I am an elementary school teacher, looking to transition from the classroom. I love spending time with kids and am passionate about our role in training children to become independent and adaptable adults. I have a Master of Arts in Teaching and a professional teaching certificate (Childhood Grades 1-6). Beyond my teaching experience, I am an avid reader, mostly sci-fi and tech, I'm a yoga practitioner, and community volunteer.

I started working with kids when I interned at the NYPL as a "literacy leader" tutoring 1st & 2nd graders. I worked 1 on 1 with a little girl from the DR, who arrived not knowing any English, and it was so rewarding to bond with her, teach her the language, and witness her joy as she learned. Over the summer I interned at a nursery school and worked with 1-4 year olds! A little bit about me, I'm 21 years old and a student at Lehman college studying psychology. I'd describe my personality as sweet, funny, and calm! I like working with children because their curiosity and joy are infectious! It's heartwarming to see the world through their pov. I always make sure that the child feels comfortable and supported, I am good at coming up with ideas and activities. I love to teach the children new things, do crafts, explore with them, and most of all create amazing bonds! I have been working since I was 14, graduated high school early at 17, and went directly into trade school, where I am currently working toward becoming a licensed esthetician and skin therapist. Most recently, I worked as a Teen Reading Ambassador with the New York Public Library, helping children with reading, writing, math homework, games, arts and crafts, and other activities. I have also worked with children with ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and different learning styles. One of my strongest qualities is my patience. I do not become easily frustrated, and I understand that children sometimes need extra time, a different explanation, or simply someone who will listen to them. I enjoy making kids feel comfortable, taking their ideas seriously, and keeping them safe while making sure they are having a good time.
