Hi! I'm Libbie. I'm a full-time Jewish educator at a fantastic synagogue in the heart of Park Slope, and I'm looking for some part time summer work! As a teacher, I always say that my main goal is teaching joy. I want every child who enters my classroom to know that they belong, they are inherently worthy, that they are wanted. It's my favorite thing to see that knowledge light up a little one's smile. That philosophy carries through easily to all children under my care. Before becoming a teacher, I was a tutor and a nanny, so I'm used to the rhythms of home as well as the classroom! The most important thing to me is to make sure your kids are safe and happy. I'm also extremely musical! I'm in the process of applying to graduate school to become a cantor - I sing and play piano, flute, and guitar, and I love enchanting little ones with music! My name is Ashley I love to serve others, children, seniors, and pets! For Children: I have several years of experience in child care from toddlers to teenagers. I'm gentle, kind and fun. I like to get minds and bodies moving, I won't just put your child in front of a screen! I offer a wide range of engaging and educational activities including arts and crafts, games, nature walks, improve/drama, photography, and cooking. I'm happy to do homework help! I have a degree in computer science and can can tutor your child in math and coding. For Seniors: I can offer seniors companionship and help with basic tasks around the house like cooking and cleaning. With seniors I love to have long chats and hear life stories (I'm a patient listener!) , play card games/backgammon/chess, or take them on walks depending on mobility. For Animals: I primarily have experience caring for dogs, and can also care for cats. I take care of dogs that are small to large (larger dogs must be more friendly, but I don't mind a small dog with trust-issues). I can take dogs on long walks and to the park. I don't have a car but can escort to and from schools or appointments via walking, public transit, or Uber.
