I am a very caring and responsible person that understands the seriousness of taking care of someone else's loved ones, but I can also be very goofy and imaginative when appropriate. I have direct experience working with kids from spending many summers as a counselor/aide at my own summer camp throughout high school, an education intern both at an environmental camp and a local zoo, and from nannying a 3 year old for 6 months. In addition to that, I am a big sister and because of that I've always had a parenting/maternal side to myself unlocked. I love being outside, playing games, and I am very crafty (painting, drawing, clay/sculpture, collages, dress-up). I'm a 35 year old Australian who has moved to the US with my husband. I have many nieces, nephews and friend's children who I loved to care for back home. I have also been a babysitter/nanny for 4 years in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I am comfortable caring for children of all ages, from infant to pre-teens. Hello to all! I am a rising Junior at Columbia University studying philosophy looking to babysit. I have worked babysitting jobs before back home in DC for parents of my school. Throughout those experiences, I've always appreciated the connection I was able to form with the kids as I watched them progress and grow. I have also worked as a soccer coach for refugee children through a program offered at my high school. Through this experience I was able to better understand how to lead groups of kids for physical activity while also making sure they are just having fun. Furthermore, I come from an international background and can speak three languages (English, French, and German) and really enjoy imparting some linguistic knowledge on the kids who are willing to learn. In doing this job, it is my goal to be someone the kid can laugh with, learn with, and play games with as I take the weight of having children off your shoulders for hours at a time.
