I’ve been caring for kids most of my life—starting at age 10 by helping care for my 6-month-old nephew under my mom’s supervision. With sisters much older than me, I naturally stepped into a caregiving role for my nieces and nephews at an early age. I began babysitting outside my family at 15 and started nannying around 19. I’ve had a lot of hands-on experience with infants, including caring for a 3-week-old foster baby several days a week for a few months, and a 1-week-old I was with consistently for over a year. I also spent about a year and a half working in a preschool, gaining experience with kids of all ages and personalities. I’ve been CPR certified since I began babysitting through the YMCA at 15. Beyond childcare, I’m happy to help with light housework, meal prep, and planning age-appropriate activities. What I love most about working with children is seeing how their minds work—how they look at life, how they process things, and those little moments when something clicks for them. I was an afterschool coordinator at Gym Skills Lifestyle Center. Before then I spent a year in San jose, California as a City Year success coach as a kid in underfunded neighborhoods. I used to be an activity assistant at rehabilitation center for the elderly. I watch my friends son at their place. I would wait for her son to get off the bus. Some of the activities that we would do are play hide and seek, draw and color, or just watch some TV. If her son had some activities scheduled I would then take him to his after school activity.
