Ray 1 review
$20 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 2 families in Clackamas, OR

Hi there! My name is Ray, and I’ve worked in a variety of non-traditional education settings. My favorite experience was being a camp counselor at Camp Tamarack, I loved how learning outside made kids more engaged with the material and each other. I love to connect the children I work with to the nature near them, especially since I was born and raised in Bend. Besides that, I’ve worked mostly in nursery settings, and mentoring middle school aged kids. I also really value reading, at any age. Going to the library is one of my favorite things to do in Portland! I would be happy to help you and yours get to picnicking at local parks with new books in hand. I also firmly believe in sliding scale payments. Your budget should not restrict you from having high quality, compassionate care.

So glad we met Ray and they were able to help us with babysitting! We were visiting portland for 3 days and needed a sitter in the mornings for our 19-month old while we worked. Ray was super communicative and was so wonderful with our kiddo. As soon as Ray walked in in the mornings, my daughter was ready to play :) They read books, colored, and went on walks around the neighborhood and to nearby parks. We got really cute photo updates and Ray also had some neat activity ideas I didn’t know about but want to continue doing now. If we lived in Portland, we’d definitely work with Ray again!

Tatiana $20 per hour for 1 child

Hi family members! If you are looking for a nurturing and patient caretaker for your kid, your elderly parent, or even for your fur baby- I’m your gal! With 7+ years of experience in being a nanny for a wonderful family with three boys, it’s safe to say I’m a seasoned nanny. We played nerf wars, football, gave them pointers in basketball, played madden, cooked for them, went to sport games with them- we truly had a blast! I do miss being around kids, which is why I am looking to care for a special little soul(s) out there! Side gigs I do from time to time is dog walk/sit for friends and I LOVE spending time with elderly humans, their wisdom, quirks, and particularity in things— all warms my heart.

Chantal $35 per hour for 1 child

Hello! My name is Chantal and I am a 51 yr old private caregiver with many years of experience. I have worked with clients with dementia, alzheimers, parkinsons, MS, stroke victims that have caused severe limitations, and the elderly. I started as a volunteer in retirement facilities, and progressed to paid work. I have worked as part of caregiving teams, and as an individual. I also took care of my grandparents, father and aunt, throughout their end of life. I have a passion for caregiving, and strongly believe that everyone deserves to be cared for with respect, compassion and dignity, no matter what stage or age. I have a great sense of humour and approach my work with a light, warm energy and a little bit of "laughter medicine". I have references to attest to my professionalism and care. A little about me personally - I'm originally from Australia, and I moved to Portland with my (now ex) husband in 2011. I am a single parent (divorced in 2017) to 2 kids, aged 20 and 23, and I am trying to help them through college and launch their adult lives. I started this work by volunteering at retirement homes, reading and just trying to be "good company" to those who may not have it often. I am also a certified pilates instructor, and work mainly 1:1 with clients (mostly 65+ - they call me the "old person whisperer" at the studio) helping them gain strength and confidence with functional movement using the pilates system and equipment. I have a wonderful (and neurotic) little boston terrier called Hoagie (like the bread roll) and I enjoy all things textile related (sewing, crochet, embroidery) and food/cooking related. I've lived and traveled all over Asia - Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and China, and a little of Europe - Barcelona, and London. I would love to see more of the world. I am also about to embark on an "End of life Doula" training as I have a particular interest in end of life care.

$22 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 2 families in Clackamas, OR

Hello! My name is Guwo and I am from Portland, Oregon. I was born and raised here and moved to Eugene for undergrad where I lived there for four years. I received my bachelor's degree in Sociology and decided to move back to Portland to study for my LSATs for law school. I love being with kids. I think they teach you a lot even when you do not realize it. I am a very patient person who is quick to make the best decisions for what I think is the right choice. I am very organizational and know these qualities are important with jobs like this. Since I was 16 years old I've worked and volunteered with kids. I worked at my local church with kids from the ages of infants to 11 years old. I have also babysat families of kids from between ages 4 to 12 years of age. During my time in school, my main focus was my education, but when I had time I worked at the local church in Eugene and participated in the children's ministry.

She was super nice and sweet with my kiddos. They instantly took a liking to them. It’s difficult to find people who are naturally good with kids and she had that magic touch. Definitely hiring her in the future.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
