Petra 1 review
$25 per hour for 1 child

Hi families! My name is Petra. I am originally from Alaska, a full-time Early Childhood Education (ECE) student at PCC, and a future teacher! I hold an Associate Degree in Music and Sonic Arts from Portland Community College, and I am a passionate singer-songwriter and drummer. My ultimate goal is to combine my love and passion for music and working with children to create a creative, enriching, and joyful environment for kids. I have been babysitting on UrbanSitter for a year now and absolutely love the amazing families I’ve met so far! Before transitioning to education, I spent 15 years in the restaurant industry and earned my culinary degree. I shifted careers because I truly connect with children. We share a spontaneous, excited-for-life energy and a deep fascination for the little things in life. I love bringing my Alaskan sense of adventure, rhythmic play, and sonic arts into outdoor adventures and daily music-making. I look forward to connecting with your family!

I highly recommend Petra for your childcare needs! She took extensive time to get to know our child prior to watching her, and is very responsive to her needs. Petra communicates well and is prompt and reliable. My daughter adores her, and they always have fun during their time together. Petra leaves our home spotless, and even loves on our dog too. You will love her!

Melissa $20 per hour for 1 child

Hello! I am an aunt of three boys and two girls. I nannied my sister’s three children and helped her with each of them from infancy through their first ten years. I have had nanny, animal, and house sitting jobs sporadically throughout the past seven years, and I enjoy all of it. Many friends have babies now, and I babysit for them when needed. The children range from 3 months to two years old. I am patient, kind, and honest while also being straightforward. I love to help others and make life easier.

Debbie $22 per hour for 1 child

Hi! I’m an empty nester and I’m beginning to explore the gig economy after a 23-year career in real estate. I bring a strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and communication skills from years of working closely with families and managing high-trust client relationships. While I’m new to paid childcare platforms like UrbanSitter, I have hands-on parenting experience raising my son, which gave me a solid foundation in day-to-day childcare, structure, and staying calm and attentive in all kinds of situations. I’m currently focused on occasional babysitting, home help, and overnight care, not regular recurring schedules. I’m comfortable with late-night or overnight stays when needed and can be flexible for one-time jobs, date nights, or travel support. I’m also very comfortable with pets and would be happy to bring my small, non-shedding doodle along for overnight stays if needed. He is well-behaved, quiet, and used to being around children and new homes. Families can expect someone who is reliable, respectful of household routines, easy to communicate with, and attentive to both children and home environments. I’m also happy to help with light household tasks such as tidying up, organization, meal prep and cleanup, and keeping things orderly during my time in your home. Looking forward to supporting families who need trustworthy, occasional care.

$19 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 1 family in Lake Oswego, OR

Hi, I'm Madison and I'm a fun, reliable, and caring person who's passionate about helping kids learn, grow, and feel supported. I've spent the last six years working with children in all kinds of settings - as a babysitter and a Live-In Nanny. Those experiences have taught me how to balance structure with fun, keep routines running smoothly, and handle any situation with patience and understanding. I'm also a U. S. Army veteran, so being on time, dependable, and organized is second nature to me. I love creating activities that are both educational and exciting for kiddos whether it's crafts, outdoor adventures, or helping with homework. If you're looking for someone who's responsible, upbeat, and great at connecting with kids, I'd love to help your family out!

Tovah $20 per hour for 1 child

Dear prospective family, I'm a fun loving, caring, gentle person, while knowing when there is a need to set boundaries. I know I was out of this profession for awhile (14yrs), before I took a six month job with a family from Brilliant Nanny before the kids returning to daycare for the social aspect. MY down time has taught me with everything going on in the world, and if you don't love what you're doing find what you do. I remembered how much I enjoyed being a nanny, and the fond memories, and watching the children learn and grow into young adults. After a 12yr job with 2x children we are still in each other's lives after 20 years. My time in retail has taught me patience, to be calm, that every situation is different, and excellent communication is key. Which can be applied as being a nanny also. Each of these skills I think can be used while being a nanny. I'm certified by Northwest Nanny Institute so I have child development classes/ child education, age apprroitate activities, separation anxiety, nutrition, sleep routine, and more. For 2mo I was responsible for two 3yr olds. During are days together: I provided structured activities including arts and crafts projects, baking, walks, and physical activities, as well as reading time, building forts, child led play, and trips to the park. Also assisted with potty training.  I would prepare snacks, and meals. This was a short term contract due to school starting. Before that I cared for 6 months I cared for an 8 month old and 3 1/2 year old. Our days consisted of baking, arts and crafts, dance parties, imaginary play, and getting outside for daily exercise. Lastly I took a short term (2 month contract) with two 3yr olds. This was short term care due to children starting pre-school. During the days we would spend are time doing baking, arts and crafts, reading, child led play,, and outdoor fun. I'm looking to work 25-30 hrs in a 4 day period or less a week, and willing to travel NE, N, SE, and parts of SW. Thank you for your time.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
