Caring for children has always been a natural part of my life. I grew up in a family where caring for and helping raise children was something the women in my family took great pride in. Because of this, I was introduced to childcare at a very young age, and what started as helping care for younger family members grew into something I genuinely love.
Throughout high school, I babysat for several families with children ranging in age from 3 months to 12 years old. However, some of my most valuable experience came from helping my best friend raise her daughter during the first three years of her life while we lived together. I took on a significant caregiving role, particularly throughout her first year, and was involved in nearly every aspect of her daily care. This included feedings, diaper changes, bathing, soothing, establishing routines, preparing meals, and supporting her as she reached important developmental milestones.
In addition to my hands-on childcare experience, I have also pursued nursing education at Chamberlain University, which has strengthened my understanding of health, safety, human development, and the importance of attentive, compassionate care.
Through these experiences, I’ve learned that caring for children requires much more than simply keeping them entertained and supervised. It takes patience, consistency, understanding, and the ability to recognize and respond to each child’s individual needs. I’m comfortable caring for children of different ages, from infants who require constant attention to older children who benefit from encouragement, structure, and independence.
I truly enjoy building meaningful connections with children, watching their personalities develop, encouraging their curiosity, and creating an environment where they feel safe, supported, and loved.
Above all, I understand how much trust it takes for a parent to leave their child in someone else’s care. I don’t take that responsibility lightly. My goal is to provide parents with peace of mind, knowing their children are being cared for by someone who is dependable, attentive, nurturing, and genuinely invested in their well-being.
I would love the opportunity to become someone your family can trust and depend on!
