$15 per hour for 1 child

Hi everyone, I'm Ta'Kyra from Northumberland County, VA, and I'm excited to offer my services as a caregiver for children (0 months-10 years), senior citizens, special needs children, and pets! While this is my first official caregiving job, I've gained valuable experience caring for my special needs sibling, assisting my grandmother with dementia, and looking after various pets. I'm experienced in bathing, feeding, meal preparation, light household work, and providing general support. I'm passionate about helping families and committed to providing compassionate, efficient care at an affordable rate. I have references available and am open to an interview to discuss how I can assist your family. I look forward to hearing from you and exploring how I can be of help!

Woodford
$18 per hour for 1 child

First, I have an M.Ed. from the University of Virginia, with a focus on children with disabilities. References, police, and a clear CPS background report are available. I am a fun-loving, easy-going, and active caretaker specifically trained to work with special needs, including ASD, Tourette, ADHD, and similar disabilities. ABA trained, and the father of a child with comparable disabilities who is now a successful adult. Most kids love me and are willing to dive in and have fun. My daughter is a lawyer and teaches ethics, and I am especially adept at taking kids out to the mall, local airport, commuter train to the D.C. museums, or Richmond. I have a commercial CDL with a student endorsement, and we go anywhere we can practice calming and behavior, and have fun in various environments. Swimming pools and lakes are incredibly attractive to kids with ASD and extremely dangerous since most can't swim. I specialize in providing survival swimming at the local YMCA. ( I have a membership, and the crew at Massad Stafford YMCA knows me. I have been active as a Big Brother mentor for almost 14 years, giving back to my community. I love electronics, gadgets, elephants, the Mars Rover, the landscape of Venus, and everything about the James Webb Telescope. Many kids love this stuff, too. Some kids can make their bed with help, and afterward, we can grill a cheese sandwich, read a picture book, or watch a video... but not all day! I have cared for a 7-year-old with comorbidities for almost four years and helped potty-train him. BTW, I currently teach middle school reading, am rarely grouchy, and, as a Gemini, remain in touch with my inner child forever. I have extensive experience helping kids with autism and related needs; I might be able to give you a break from the routine without breaking your budget.

Gary is a wonderful caretaker of our children, including one who has ASD and special needs! We have worked with him for over three years and trust Gary with both our boys, aged 7 and 5. Gary is professional, knowledgeable, very understanding, and kind. We enjoy working with Gary, and he is excellent taking our special needs child to his swimming pool, or out for adventures in FXBG, D.C., Richmond. He has an excellent rating on CheckR, BTW.

Allyson 1 review
Prince George
$25 per hour for 1 child

Hello! My name is Allyson, and I recently moved to the area from Wisconsin with my partner after earning my M.A. in Public Service from Marquette University. Caring for children has been one of the greatest joys in my life. I've been babysitting and nannying since I was 12 years old and have had the privilege of caring for dozens of families with children ranging from just 2 weeks old through 12 years old. While I enjoy working with children of all ages, I have a special passion for caring for infants. Building trusting relationships with families is incredibly important to me, and several parents have shared that I was the first person outside of their family they felt comfortable leaving their baby with. I consider that trust an incredible honor and strive to provide every child with patient, attentive, and loving care. My graduate fellowship at a child welfare agency deepened my holistic approach to caregiving. There, I received training in trauma-informed care and Trust-Based Relational Intervention, strengthening my understanding of child development, emotional regulation, and the importance of secure, responsive relationships. I am also currently earning a Trauma Informed Care Certification through Michigan State University to continue expanding my knowledge and provide the best care possible for every child I work with. Whether we're reading books, exploring outside, creating art, or working through big emotions together, I strive to create an environment where children feel safe, respected, and encouraged to learn. I'm also happy to assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, homework/educational activities, and pet care so I can be a dependable, supportive presence for your entire family. On a personal note, I love being in water, quality time with my partner, singing, going to parks, and snuggles with with my kitty, Miss Araya Sunshine. One of my long-term dreams is to open a daycare centered on social-emotional learning, nervous system regulation, and helping children explore their interests and build confidence through safe, nurturing relationships. I would love the opportunity to get to know your family and provide quality, nurturing care to your littles!

Allyson has been a wonderful babysitter for us. She is always cheerful, on time, and very interactive with our son. She gets down on the floor and plays with him and I always have a peace of mind when she is there. Highly recommend.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
