I have worked with children all of my life, starting with babysitting at age 12, having ten families to regularly sit for through high school, then being an island nanny in my early 20s while getting my Psychology BA from Seattle University. My familiarity comes from lived experience of a family full of neurodivergence, coaching my own self through studies and career, and raising my two teens. At the Boys and Girls club in 2023, I was surprised and delighted that children on the autism spectrum felt safe with me from the beginning, regularly found my hand for walks and outdoor play. I valued learning from their ABA therapists when they attended. I have experienced all sides of diagnoses, interventions, somatic/occupational therapy, vision therapies, social interactions work, and helping older kids develop tools for organizing and homework that actually work. OLDER KIDS; Tutoring, meals, transport, general care: My home has an open door for teens here on the island; where a good snack, a pep-me-up chat, and some help with homework is always available. I have two college degrees, with strongest tutoring skills in reading and writing, but I naturally love math and science!
