Hello! I am Kenadie, and I'm a second-year student at Western Washington University studying linguistics, literature, and writing, and I am looking for part time employment. I'm comfortable and have experience working with children ages 0-15, and I'm excited for the opportunity to provide excellent care while creating fun memories! I believe that working in childcare is an incredible responsibility--not only in ensuring the child's physical safety, but also their emotional wellbeing. My goal will always be to harbor a safe, comfortable, reliable, curious, and exciting environment. I worked as a camp counselor last summer in which I was solely responsible for 5+ students at a time. I also have experience babysitting, as I've babysat my siblings (currently 2, 5, and 10) for about nine years now. Also, I was a mentor through WWU's Compass 2 Campus program. In this role, I volunteered in both 5th, 6th, and 9-10th grade classrooms in order to get them excited about school and tutor them as needed.

Hello my name is Aisha Rain, I’m 25 years old, post bachelors degree. In school I studied the arts, psychology and childhood development and environmental education and brought this knowledge into the jobs I worked while in school. I have been working in childcare since I was in middle school through babysitting jobs and nannying for family members. I worked at the campus childcare center throughout most of my school years, gaining experience working with infants all the way through pre kindergarten. I later worked at Fern Gully Forest school which had a focus on arts and experiential learning. I also have experience working with middle schoolers and high schoolers through my summer jobs guiding outdoor adventures for youth. I love staying active and having fun projects and goals when working with children and adolescents. I think nature is an essential aspect of learning so I love getting outside with the kids.

Hello my name is Avery. I am a 19 year old college student who is also a licensed assistant pre school teacher for a school in Bellingham. I am CPR and first aid trained aswell blood born pathogen trained. I work with kids 2-5 but am open to older, I have amazing skills and am great with kids, I also have a food handlers card and know how to handle peanut allergies and more. I also do pet sitting and have volunteered with animal humane New Mexico for 2 years. My rates are flexible, I just want to help out!

I'm currently a sophomore at Western Washington University where I'm developing an interdisciplinary major that combines Neuroscience (particularly fear sciences), messaging, and comparative cultural studies. Prior to moving out west I lived in Norway and went to Voss Folk School where I 'studied' backcountry skiing and analog photography. In my free time I love to be outdoors either taking the time to slow down or get my heart racing. In addition to being outside I love to work with my hands crafting. I love to try new things and would consider myself a jack of all trades. Childcare experience: Throughout high school I nannied for two families (Nevilles: 3 girls and two boys ranging 4-12 years old + Dientenbergers: 2 boys and one girl ranging 2-10 years old). I grew up on the same block as both of these families and have a lot of love for them. Watching them grow has been a pleasure and I still get together with them every time I'm back home. My work for these families varied over the years, but generally I'd watch them after school and late on weekends helping them with homework, going on adventures, crafting and doing household chores. For the past 3 summers I've worked at Camp du Nord, a family camp near the Boundary Water Canoe Area. My first two years working at du Nord I was on program staff. Each week on program staff I was assigned an age group ranging from 0-14 years old that I would look after in the morning. In the afternoons I would lead activities (such as paddling 101, soccer, beading etc) for kids and adults. This year I took on a lead position in the garden. In the mornings I'd have age groups and adults come into the garden and tell them about what I was growing, different agricultural techniques, fun facts and practical uses for plants. In the afternoons I'd lead classes such as pickling, making plant dyes, and tea foraging hikes. I love working with kids and feel I can learn a lot from them. I find their curiosity and enthusiasm eye opening and hope to preserve a positive view of our world. I understand how receptive and malleable young minds are and hope that in every interaction I can facilitate their development. I'm all about having fun, but also know how to take control and assert myself when needed.

I've been around little ones for as long as I can remember, and caring for them has always been a big part of my life. I've looked after my nephew since he was a newborn and have also helped care for family friends' kids of all ages over the years. I am CPR and First Aid certified through American Red Cross for adults, children, and babies. I'm patient, dependable, and love keeping kids engaged, whether that's playing outside, doing crafts, or helping with homework. I'm happy to follow household rules and can also pitch in with cooking, light cleaning, travel, or swimming supervision. Helping kids feel safe, happy, and supported is what matters most to me. I also offer household services including cleaning, meal prep, and organization.
