Booked by 18 families in Seattle, WA

Hi! I’m Katie and I’ve been caring for children for 15+ years. I am passionate about the nurturing and education of children, and enjoy fostering their individual growth and development. I recently graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Geoscience and a Minor in Disability Studies. My future goal is to merge my love for childcare, pedagogy, disability studies and environmental science into a learning center for kids. I have extensive experience with children of all ages, from infants to teenagers. Starting my childcare career as a teenager myself, I have continuously improved my skills through hands-on experience, training courses, certifications, and educational coursework over the past 15 years. Alongside providing in-home care, I have also gained valuable experience working in educational and recreational settings. I am passionate about creating inclusive and supportive environments that empower children to thrive and succeed. I use adaptive caregiving techniques to meet the individual needs of children with diverse abilities. Through a blend of educational, professional, and personal experiences, I have honed my skills in customizing activities, environments and curriculum to best suit various learning styles, disabilities and abilities. My favorite activity to do with kids is exploring and playing outdoors in nature. I also love engaging in games, arts and crafts, science experiments, cooking and baking, reading, music, and dance, among other activities! One of my go-to activities, with parental permission, for first visits is making homemade play-dough. It's a simple yet fun activity to break the ice and allow the kids and me to get to know each other. Extra info: In addition to childcare, I’m available to help with tutoring, homework, preparing meals, light cleaning, and errands. I’m an animal lover so any pets are fine by me. In addition to lots of pets and play I’m happy to help with feeding, walks, etc.

Katie was prompt, communicative, flexible, kind, and great with our kids. We would definitely hire her again!

$30 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 22 families in Seattle, WA

Hey there! I’m Dani. I have experience taking care of children of all ages, which has made me know different stages of their development. During a volunteering at a school, I helped children with their academic activities and organizing sports activities, there I learned to combine education with play. Also, as part of my university internship, I worked with children in vulnerable situations, which made me see the importance of creating a safe and enriching environment for them. I love sports, physical activity and crafts, and there is nothing more fun than sharing these activities with children, helping them develop motor skills, creativity and self-confidence. I will be happy to share this time adapted to the needs and personalities of each child. For this reason, I appreciate that as parents you guide me and we have good communication to know the limits and rules you have with them. I hope to meet you soon!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
