As the second oldest of seven children, I have spent most of my life caring for kids. From ages 17 to 19, I was the sole caregiver for my two youngest siblings, then ages 0 to 4, due to an illness in the family. I went on to work in K-12 summer camps for four summers, then spent two years as a program leader in a K-8 public school afterschool program.
