I am local to Marin/SF and a Mom to my daughter who is now in college. In addition to being a parent, I have been babysitting off and on for many years. I have pretty high standards as far as child care goes. I think it is important to engage (not sit on your phone), and make sure the children feel well looked after. I like to check in via text now and again during the job so the parents feel connected and reassured. I'm a Bay Area native and I was a childcare provider and nanny for over 10 years in San Francisco before I began my teaching certification program. I really enjoy working with families and still keep in close contact with the last family I worked with. In the past, I've also worked for the Y.M.C.A. as a coach and teacher for children in their camp program. I love doing arts and crafts activities, and going on outside adventures with kids to parks, museums (California Academy of Sciences is a great one!), and libraries. My experience in the internship was so inspiring that I decided to make Special Education a focus in teaching. I'm taking this semester off from teaching so I’m mostly tutoring, but also available for occasional babysitting. I really enjoy babysitting because it gives me the opportunity to be creative, no matter what age the child is, with play and learning activities.
