Hi! I am Sydne! I just moved to Chicago with my sister after graduating from the University of Arizona this past year! I am beginning work at Lurie Children’s Hospital as a Registered Nurse this fall! I have been a sitter/ nanny for the last 7 years and keep doing it because I love spending time with kids and helping them grow into kind & inquisitive individuals. I am excited to meet new families and kids in the Chicago area!

With over a decade of professional experience in child care; lifeguard, swim instructor, children's birthday entertainer, substitute teacher, and daycare worker/pre-k teacher, I have just about every child imaginable. I've also been babysitting since I was 12, for my parents, cousins, friends, and the occasional co-worker who needed a night off. I've seen all ages, 6m-17y. I like to think I connect with children so well because I truly am just a big kid at heart. But I also know when play time is over and to be firm, but fair. I have training in basic first aid, CPR, basic diabetic care, certified in anaphylactic safety, certified in allergy safety, certified in food handling and safety.

I’m a teacher with 25 years of experience with all age groups. I’m great with kids and pets. I know how to take care of your children, keep them occupied and engaged. Have references from tutoring and babysitting jobs.

I have been a pediatric speech language pathologist for 14 years. Prior to beginning my career, I had extensive baby-sitting experience. I will provide care for my nephews and niece regularly. I have extensive experience working with children with special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. In addition to providing speech and language services, I am also a feeding therapist. I am CPR-certified. I am just looking to do some work slightly outside of my career-field.

I'm trustworthy, reliable, and pretty flexible with parents' & child's needs, scheduling/ adhering to naps (sleep training), enjoy partaking in transitions/ milestones/ overall development, and making sure that children are on track - based on recommnded guidelines! I can do light house-keeping, child's laundry, bath-time, meal/ snack preparation (including introduction to solids/ Baby-Led Weaning, Organic Cooking/ & per parents' instructions), as well as, engage children in fun, language/ educational activities, community walks/ parks, etc., weather permitting! Part of my philosophy is to shadow a child, allowing them freedom in exploration and expression thru nurturing, and creating a safe environment!! I'm bilingual (English/ Spanish), a non-smoker & pet-friendly (additionally, providing pet-sitting services)! I'm up-to-date with my vaccines & recently renewed my CPR/ First Aid/ AED Certification earlier this Summer!
