I’ve babysat children as young as 8 months to 12 yrs old. While in college, I worked at a daycare serving children as young as 1 yr to 3 1/2 years old. I helped students develop motor skills, social skills, practice sight words, and did lots of arts & crafts! Caring for children has always been a meaningful part of my life. I began by helping raise my sister, who is 13 years younger than me, and over the years I’ve cared for cousins, friends’ children, and others in my community. I started babysitting in high school and continued for several years, both professionally and informally, developing experience with children of all ages—from infants to pre-teens (up to 12 years old). I have a lot of experience working with kids. I have been a gymnastics coach for the last four years working with infants all the way to teenagers. As a coach, my responsibilities have included running both classes, private lessons and summer camps. Classes and private lessons have really taught me how to most effectively communicate with kids, whereas working at the summer camps has allowed me to tap into my creativity, coming up with games and crafts that kids actually enjoy. I have always babysat on the side in addition to coaching, so I am also very familiar with any household tasks that might be expected of me- bedtime, making dinners, etc! If you have pets, I am happy to look after them as well. I grew up with two dogs and have a mini dachshund myself now- I love animals!
