Hi! I have always loved kids and started babysitting when I was 11 years old. Up until I had my daughter in 1998, I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t doing some kind of work with kids: Interning in high school (Learning to Read Through the Arts, after school counselor ), volunteering (New York Foundling Hospital), assistant teacher (5 years at The Jewish Guild for the Blind early intervention program), sewing/craft instructor (home based classes). I had my daughter in 1998 and stayed home with her while caring for another child twice a week when she was small. I starting babysitting on Urban sitter to supplement my income while working on creative projects before deciding to go back to school. I completed my degree as an occupational therapy assistant and have rejoined Urban Sitter while looking for full-time work and am hoping to pick up the occasional babysitting job when I am working, as well. I am an artist at heart, love music (play a bit of guitar and sing) and truly enjoy young people. I am available on an as needed basis (date nights, filling in when your regular sitter is out, etc.) and my hours are very flexible. I started working with children from a very young age. I have experience as a nanny and camp counselor. I also am an animal lover and love long walks with furry friends. Being the oldest sibling, it is in my nature to be a caregiver and I am very patient and lots of fun. A fun fact about me is I love books and music!

Lauren is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and moved to Manhattan in the fall of 2021 with her two cats! She began volunteering at a special needs arts program at the age of 14 and has remained dedicated to the field ever since. Lauren graduated from Chapman University with degrees in Psychology and Integrated Educational Studies and from Teachers College, Columbia University with a Masters in Developmental Disabilities. She holds certifications in ABA, DIR Floortime, and is currently certified in CPR/first aid. Since 2017, Lauren has worked in childcare in various roles, including counselor, ABA therapist, camp division leader, and inclusion coordinator. Throughout all of this, she has babysat for children ages 2 and up since she was 14. She recently worked at a Jewish community center in Washington Heights for two years as an Inclusion Coordinator, overseeing disability inclusion in their afterschool program, summer camp, and directing a weekly social skills and play program for autistic and neurodivergent children. Lauren is extensively trained to support kids with diverse support needs and of all abilities. She is now the Director of Adaptive Programming for a sports and fitness nonprofit!

Hi! My name is Tess and I am a student at Fordham University. I am offering babysitting, pet care and household chore services. I have been a babysitter since I was twelve, starting as a mother's helper and onwards from there. My responsibilities included driving to and from school, helping with homework, sports and activites, putting the kiddos to bed, and overall general home care. I have worked with ages 1-14, as a babysitter, camp counselor and nanny. As a sociology major, I hope to start a career in early education!
