Hi there! My name is Gigi. I'm originally from Seattle and currently live in Bushwick/Ridgewood. I am 37 and am a performance maker and CLOWN! I attended the University of San Francisco, where I graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Media Studies. I have worked with kiddos as a babysitter, tutor, and dance teacher since 2008 and from 2[removed], I worked as a long term nanny and family assistant. I then stepped away to focus on my artistic pursuits! I was a dancer for a long while and have more recently been pursuing performance art and physical theatre by way of theatre clowning (took a show to Edinburgh Fringe this past August, yay!). So much so that I am in process of finding a Master’s program in Early Childhood Education with hopes to teach within the intersection of the performing arts and childhood development. I am committed to supporting and creating a reliable safe haven and secure base for kiddos so they may thrive, play, and learn with confidence. I myself have learned a lot and been inspired by my own inner-child healing and children’s advocacy self-study. In my own personal life, a lot of my time and energy is spent using the arts as a healing modality, as well as working through generational trauma and dysfunctional family patterns and behaviors. I find that this work has taught me to become a more empathetic, nurturing, and patient caregiver and has greatly impacted how I relate to children in particular. I am incredibly careful and intentional with my time spent around kids and hope to provide only the warmest, most supportive, and gently engaging environment. Hi! My name is Katrina! 😊 I’ve been the go-to babysitter for my family and friends for many years, and I’ve been caring for children ranging from about 5 months to 9 years old since I was a teenager. I’ve always loved being around kids, and honestly, working with them has always just come naturally to me. I’m patient, caring, dependable, and I really enjoy making kids feel comfortable, happy, and understood. I currently work as a Paraprofessional with the NYC Board of Education in Williamsburg, where I work closely with children in special education. I’ve worked one-on-one with children with ADHD, autism, developmental delays, speech disorders, and different sensory and behavioral needs. I’ve also worked with children from Pre-K through 2nd grade, so I’m very comfortable with different ages, personalities, routines, and learning styles. When I babysit, I don’t want kids to feel like they’re just being “watched.” I love keeping them busy with fun, age-appropriate activities while still giving them structure and following their normal routines.
