My name is Luke and I'm a graduate of New York University ('16) with a BFA in Drama. Some of my favorite things to do are go to Broadway shows (obviously), playing tennis, writing, and going for a run along the Hudson River while jamming to Taylor Swift. When it comes to working with kids, I've basically done it all at one time or another. Among my favorite jobs have been being a nanny for a number of incredible families after-school; working at a children's theatre in Manhattan, where I taught musical theatre classes for ages 3-14; and working as a tennis and theatre counselor at an all-girls summer camp in Maine, where I taught girls ages 7-16 and was a bunk counselor for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Most recently, I've worked at several day camps in Manhattan - Asphalt Green Summer Day Camp, where I was the On-Site Program Manager for two years, and Steve and Kate's Camp at Kips Bay, where I was the Site Director. I am currently the PS 527 Program Director for the Imogen Foundation, an after-school program focusing on SEL and emotional literacy. I am very skilled in managing large groups of kids. As a camp counselor, you quickly learn to think on your feet because there's nothing more stressful than dealing with 200 incredibly bored kids stuck inside on a rainy day. Through my teaching experience, I've learned quite a bit of classroom management and how to command the attention of a room.
