I’m passionate about working with children and connect easily with kids of all ages. Fluent in English, Arabic, and French, I enjoy gardening, cooking, and outdoor activities, creating fun, enriching experiences for young ones.
“Sahar was amazing with both my 2 month old and my 18 month old sons. I really appreciated how she was eager to help in any way she could and offered to help me sweep and cook dinner. She was incredible with my older son who is usually very clingy and only typically lets me take care of him when he’s sick. She was so creative with playing with him and both my kids and I loved really her friendly, sweet and positive personality ”
*****Taking a few weeks off from bookings to focus on a recovering from a health flare up. Will hopefully begin taking bookings again around 9/15. Thank you for understanding**** *****Please note: I am immunocompromised and have an autoimmune disease so I cannot watch sick children and must limit time outside in extremely hot weather. Hi! I'm Ali. I’m originally from Seattle and moved to New York in 2015 to study acting. I joined UrbanSitter during college and have been using it as my day job ever since. I have 18 years of childcare experience, ranging from date nights and private nannying to daycare and summer camps. Over the last four years I have began working in arts education as a teaching artist and youth theater director. I’m the 2nd oldest of 10 so I’ve been around young kids my entire life and am used to watching multiple kids at once. Due to being CPR and First Aid certified since I was 12, I’ve gained years of experience watching kids with varying disabilities and medical conditions, and am very familiar with working with children who are autistic, have epilepsy, or have life threatening food allergies. My go to activities are coloring, board games, going to the park, reading, movies, and arts and crafts. Outside of childcare, I am an actor, writer, and run an indie theater/production company. I’ve spent the pandemic studying trauma informed, consent based rehearsal spaces and mental health first aid. Both of these skills have been easily transferable to my childcare work. I have experience teaching at after school programs using the Montessori Method and have been working more as a teaching artist lately, doing theater and improv with kids. Cancellation policy: cancellation less than 24 hours my policy is full payment. If it’s within 72 hours, it’s half the agreed payment, and more than 72 there isn’t a fee. If you come home more than 15 minutes late with no communication I reserve the right to charge a late fee on top of that extra time. If you come home early I still charge for the full time booked since I had to block that time out in my calendar, unless we’ve agreed on it beforehand.
Hello there! A little bit about me 😊 I’m currently a student studying Communication Sciences and Disorders with the goal of becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist! I have 4 going on 5 years of experience working with children in special education, ABA therapy, early intervention, private nannying, and childcare. Most of my experience comes from working at a school for children with autism and an early intervention center. I love keeping childcare fun, playful, and lighthearted, while also being comfortable working with a variety of behaviors, developmental needs, and communication styles. I bring patience, structure, and an educated approach while still making sure kids can be kids! I’m currently looking for a part-time position of around 20 hours a week or less. I’m especially experienced with special needs children, but am just as comfortable with typically developing children. Please reach out if we sound like a good fit! 😊

"Caitlin was awesome and jumped right in to chaperone four girls (10, 9, 8 and 6) at a family wedding (they were bridesmaids) and she was very helpful with the event as well as taking them home and putting them to bed."
Lila P., parent

"McKenna was great with our 3 year old son! She came prepared with a box of fun activities and handled playing, dinner, and bedtime seamlessly... and it was all at our hotel while we were in town for a wedding. Thank you McKenna!"
